I've mentioned here before, that I've measured my MBF2H532C (2x25G full height with 32GB of RAM) to actually consume ~38W idle and ~42W under full load with DAC cables attached to both ports. Also that is recommendation for the slot, not TDP. TDP for them was never public. AFAIR, PCIe Standard...
IMHO cheapest 10/25G router option would be half height bluefield-2, they quite often goes for less than a 100$ and if you are willing to setup them yourself. Connectx-6 is capable of routing more than 50G without any issues.
You not only get more memory channels (that you are not obliged to use), but also more PCIe lanes available to you. So if you are building something that requires 4-5 GPUs, a NIC, few NVMe drives or planning to expand to that in a future - you would be better off with W890E SAGE SE.
It would depend on what else you would get. On a plus side for SPR-ES - AVX-512, some sort of AMX (might be buggy though, as there is no changelog for ES steppings available) and faster RAM if you can afford 8 channel DDR5 RDIMMs.
On the plus side for Epyc - 128 PCIe lanes (Gen4 though, not...
Somebody was mentioning that, but I never got mine to boot. I have early E0 60 core and asus w790 sage mb. I can probably assemble a small test bench and check at which code it got stuck for me...
IMHO, going for D0 is not a good idea, unless you really want to use W790 motherboard (only D0 ES works there).
Otherwise - either go for SPR E0 stepping (they tend to be sold for similar price to D0) or maybe even EMR A0
Half-height cards doesn't have BMC at all, they run so called BMC Simulator that provide a subset of redfish API if you manage to configure it (I don't remember how you can do that, I did it once but as it was useless I never bothered reproducing that).
Whole idea was that you can connect a card...
Not applicable for me, as I'm not in US, but I can tell that it is a decent cooler, I use one of its variants on my Zen5c Epyc (note: SP5 at least used to be a different SKU, but performance-wise it was the same as the rest) server and on Ampere Altra M128.

You actually get the DOCA installed on the host, get the rshim up and running and use /dev/rshim0/console (assuming you have only one of those) as a serial console, send a reboot command...
I was just asking people on discord servers that were related to hardware, and in one of them (I don't remember which one) got that reply. That was quite some time ago as well.
And from what I understand with OAM you basically need to buy a chassis that has OAM, at least for now.
I wonder if the GNR-WS ES would be better for AMX-heavy load in the end? You can get dual-CPU server board and two 86 core server CPUs, but at the same time you will have all the problems of cross-CPU communication.
I heard this about those ES that are available specifically, that it whatever the problem was - it got fixed in later stages and retail cards are fine from that perspective.
1550 ES was available on chinese platforms for a while, but rumours says that ES should be avoided as they are unreliable and dies rather quickly if you'll manage to get them working. Those are just rumours though, but enough for me not to risk my money.
I would expect that this bluefield-2 would consume ~40W from the wall, while older server with CX4 Lx would draw closer to 80 under the load. In terms of Idle - server would be better if you manually replace fans with something with better power consumption.
Raspberry Pi 5 is less than half of...
It is eMMC that runs I think in SLC mode and splitted in half for the A/B partition switch in case software update fails you need fast rollback. In terms of reliability it should be ok, but size-wise - yeah, have something to wish for.
There are some custom weird SKUs like BlueSphere that has...
First of all, it won't be able to supply 20W to the optics like ever. Second - official TDP is measured with DACs as transcievers can consume some extra watts.
12W is the figure from official specs for dual port MCX631102AC-ADAT - 11.5W is the typical power and 13W is max.
That depends on what...
