Just an update: I ended up with a Protectli 6630 w/ 8GB of RAM and an NVMe I already had. I decided the good hardware support in the US as well as the serial console were worth paying for.

This felt like it isn't related to everything else you said, what makes you think this? I'm not challenging you, just trying to figure out what caused this instinct. I'm also concerned about the heat and power on this device before buying it.

Haven't got much feedback, but right now leaning towards the Protectli. The miniform feels like it's going to use too much power and I don't love the fans.
