I've used 8-16Gb CF cards with UDMA support from China. You'll need 8Gb or more, basically. It is better to get 'industrial-grade' card, maybe used, but, IMHO, it is overpriced sometimes. I'd rather get a spare card.

Oh, that's so generous! We should also note socket LGA775. I'm just wondering, did Intel broke any of it's promises? I can understand that nobody wants to have extra expenses for upgrading motherboard as well, but I can't understand why there's so much hate to AMD for things that's OK for Intel?

Is Intel any better? How many sockets changed in Core i series? AMD at least have long-living socket AM4.

It's inside SWBD* directories. I've installed from USB SD card reader.

There's 3d-printable models available on thingiverse. I've printed 4 of them and using it in Supermicro 846 case.

Save old BIOS first, I don't know how board was bricked, but old BIOS may still contain some important info like MAC and serials.

Are you going to use a SOIC clip for that? It doesn't work with some MBs and programmers. It may require a license. But check this option first.

It would be great if you can license mine. However it's not urgent: 24 10G ports is enough for now, but I'd really like to have 40G port licenses.

Thanks for this tip about licenses, it's still cheapest option for me, if invested time not counted.

Here's what shown during 1st boot: Maybe there were no port licenses installed? But I remember that 'show license' (or similar) command showed something. I haven't saved that.

Unfortunately, nothing was shown in my case.

Looking for any firmware newer than 4.0.

Noob question: is there a way to backup licenses? I have a switch with NOS 4.x and want to update it, and don't want to loose port upgrade license. Is it stored on internal CF card or somewhere else?

As I know, curtently only HP and IBM make tape drives. Quantum and Fujitsu are HP drives, Dell is IBM. I am not expecting HP drive to work in Dell library, but IBM may work. Double check it.
