Nope - once Proxmox is setup and you have a PiHole instance running - it's just another virtual device on the network - other devices don't care if the IP address is from a bare metal or virtual host . . . :)

I think you're right - the description states "8010 hidden fan with active cooling as a suppliment" - but that strange vent like piece on the top of the fins is not clear - also how it connects to the MB

I agree and all the picture to date are renderings and not reall pics - so it's difficult to see how the fan design actually is - although it claims easy replacement ?!?

Thanks! My bad - just found it after I posted . . . This device seems too new to determine if it's worth it! I have a R86s-G2 with N5105 running fine, but would be interested in a bit more CPU power! The N305 seems pretty decent @ 15W TDP

I got the AMD 5800U unit and it's quite powerful! Not a big jump for the 5825U as far as price / performance . . . Just my 2 cents!

Good news - found a 1Gbe GBIC on e-bay which works like a charm! Device seems to be purring along as OPNSense running under Proxmox - no issues so far ;)

After more research - it looks like it has to do with whether intel_pstate is enabled or disabled - If enabled, and it's a modern Intel processor - then you get only powersave and performance (because it's being managed by the CPU itself and NOT the kernel scheduler) - and supposedly powersave...
