Gotcha. So I need another four bolts (at least 20mm long) to secure the UPS rack ears to the front of the rail.
Tbh, I do have the 8 bolts and conical washers for this rail kit as I got this kit brand new. What I don't have are the bolts/washers that screw the UPS rack ears to the front of the...
These are the extendable L rails, right? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0060RUVBA/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_WDS2PT57CJ3C13E02RZT
With those, can you still use the front ears in front of the front L bracket holes?
Yeah, they are impossible to find. Will it be better to maybe just mount a 2-post shelf at the rear of the rack to support the rear of the switch and still use the ears in front of the switch?
I'm talking about this doca-ofed 12.5 and I followed the doca host installationg guide. And because the latest kernel of pve 9.0 is not in the list of supported kernel of doca host, I had to do an extra step of using doca-kernel-support in the doca extra package.
I haven't noticed anything...
Ok, I was able to install OFED in my new PVE. After enabling the VF's on the OFED driver, I can confirm that the MACs aren't really assigned and that I need to assign them manually.
Is it normal to keep the PF bound to the host (for management) and just passthrough the VF's to the different VM...
Gotcha. So if Proxmox doesn't assign a MAC, then it is up to me to assign one statically to every VF as it needs a MAC to switching, of course. And if there's a hardware switch inside the NIC, then VLAN's aren't really needed if the PF is connected to an physical access port and if there's no...
Did you check that section of the Nvidia article though? It says to assign MACs. What is that for?
Also, how is traffic segregated for each VF when they reach the physical port? VLANs? So a PF with multiple active VF's should always be configured as trunk? Kinda like a router on a stick model?
CX4-LX as mentioned in the title :)
FWIW, I'm trying to install DOCA-OFED right now on my new Proxmon install and it looks like it does not support the latest kernel. Is it always good to install OFED instead of just relying on the stock OS driver (mlx5 in my case)?
What do you mean the CX3...
So I think I have a good grasp of how to configure SR-IOV using Nvidia's guide here and I was able to show the VF's already. The only thing I can't get my head to wrap around on is step 7 under section 2 (Enable SR-IOV on the MLNX_OFED Driver). Why do you need to change the MAC address of every...
@DarkServant I just got 2 x 960GB Samsung PM883's from reddit and they have these info:
Device Model: Samsung MZ7LH960HAJR-00005
Firmware Version: HXT7B04Q
In your repo, I see that the HXT7B04Q_NF.bin is the latest firmware there. Does this mean I already have the latest and that I have a...
I was able to update my backplane without any issues. For more details about the process, watch this video from ArtOfServer. The ReleaseNote.txt that came from SuperMicro support still has the outdated instructions that bricked a lot of people's backplanes. Even though I already gave them a...
