This SSD seems definitively to be not a top tier one... I hardly think NVMe can be blamed for that. The prices are creepy high nowadays. Even with "server"-NVMe drives, if they are new, the firmware can have quite some bugs, at the consumer level it's way worse if you look at all the Samsung...

You're right. Even if there are some bit errors, in most cases this does'nt destroy the whole footage. And the nature of use is, as you already mentioned, are sequential writes, which are way less stress for the card than small random writes. Plus the dashcam itself would most likely not...

Can be the USB case, have you checked it with another SSD? They are mostly relative low-quality and the case chipsets have firmware updates which are not always provided by the manufacturer; for updating it you need to know the exact chipset&revision and risk it with an update from somewhere...

I hope you've done it with admin rights, but i think so. Last thing you can try, is to simply put the SSD on the SATA power connector with out data cable and wait for 1-2h. They call it "power cycling", in hope that at some point an internal mechanism gets the drive out of serious problems, but...

if something ERRORMOD related appears i would try this on samsung SATA SSD's LINK Be sure that in the BIOS the SATA mode it is set to AHCI.
