EXPIRED $160 Supermicro X11DPU include shipping

Be careful though, I've got best results with NeoProgrammer full cycle, simple flash over won't work

    ES Xeon Discussion

I got your point, I understand the AI-driven RAM and disks price madness. My question was about relative prices across the 3rd scalable generation. AI chat supposes it’s just some random enterprise dropoff and also may be linked to licensing per core count for major virtualisation platforms

    ES Xeon Discussion

Sorry, can you please point me to the relevant topic, found nothing searching. Got 3Tb PMEM 200 when it was dirt cheap. But there's a catch - on some specific caching loads PMEM (at least series 100) isn't that good, got to find it the hard way and turn off completely to get the server back to...

    ES Xeon Discussion

Hello everyone, Does anyone understand what is going on with the secondary market pricing for 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable (Ice Lake) CPUs? I have a Supermicro X12DPU-based system and have been looking for a CPU for over a year just to test the board. I’ve been avoiding QS/ES chips since they...

Supermicro 24x NVME Server Build (proxmox + truenas)

We're using 24xNVMe dual CPU X11/H11-H12 systems in production - I wouldn't advise to mess up with these gen3/gen4 risers and retimers, you may end up spending the same as you've bought out-of-the box. For few disks and direct BPN connections it may be ok, but I haven't made it work on H12 with...

Making your own PSU EPS Cables

Agree Had to re-pin Supermicro 24x NVMe backplane power from X10 to X11, because it's the other way around for some reason, also made new cables from GPU power lane out of old burned modular PSU, which is probably the most affordable stuff to get the crimped cables from. Although one can re-pin...

Cost effective way to get on EPYC

Sorry, was a bit off I was very lucky to get AS-1123US-TR4, but any chassis you like with H11DSU will work, not a problem if a chassis comes without NVMe backplane - easily retrievable. Just be careful with MoBo rev if you want it to work with Gen2 CPUs

Cost effective way to get on EPYC

I've hardly found H12DSU MoBo (fits in almost any Ultra chassis), 2x7742, but anyway using PCI-e 3.0 NVMe, so just found H11 based complete chassis with NVMe backplane for $500, and keep H12 for Gen3 EPYCs I will buy when they become affordable. Real pain is Gen4 PCI-e backplanes and cabling if...

    Supermicro sys-620u-tnr /x12dpu-6

Hello, Have you ever solved the problem? I've got the same SYS-620U-TNR with sata cabling 1xCBL-SAST-1241F-100 Slimline x4 (STR) to Slimline x4 (STR),FFC,INT,41CM,100 2xCBL-SAST-1250F-100 Slimline x4 (STR) to Slimline x4 (STR),FFC,INT,50CM,100 and can't find the NVMe kit literally anywhere -...

    EU 8x NEW HPE 7.68TB U.2 NVMe Gen3 SSD Hynix PE6011 HFS7T6GDUFEH P13834 2Y Warranty - €4,999

No mistake, specs are what you mentioned. Then you may be after PM9A3, but no good deals yet, price development of these is weird https://smicro.eu/samsung-pm9a3-7-68tb-nvme-pcie4x4-2-5-7mm-sed-1dwpd-5yr-mzql27t6hbla-00a07-1

    ES Xeon Discussion

Hello, everyone! I was lucky enough to get X12DPU based system not by the "Complete System Only" weird pricing. The next thing is to get a decent CPU for it. My dream ones are 6326 or 6336Y for 3200MHz and enough fast cores. Yet they aren't old enough to be affordable on eBay. I have some time...

EXPIRED $160 Supermicro X11DPU include shipping

Identical situation I run into as well, same thoughts. Haven’t tried yet, also there’s /RECOVERY option available related to override secure flash. This board is still of some value to try flashing with CH341A programmer, would that work?

Can I use the BPN-NVMe3-216N-S4 backplane with any SC216 chassis?

FYI, X11DPU+BPN-NVMe3-216N-S4 worked out! 20x nvme plus 100G NIC in place. Just one switch used, not a big penalty in performance. Bald and affordable, maybe someday I will try to upgrade it to X12 Keep on SM, stocks skyrocketing!

Whats the deal with U.2 enterprise SSDs selling so cheap?

Yeah, that's the time for this stuff I found it best with PM983 8Tb drives - tons of these on ebay new and used got from 550 down to 250 in past 2 years. For chassis - sas SYS-1028U or if lucky SYS-1029U, upgrade to NVMe backplane, some cabling, risers or even AOCs - 10xNVMe X10/X11ultra server...

    Supermicro 6028U-TRTP X10DRU-i Barebone $349

Got stuck with X10DRU 2.0a BIOS upgrade as well, when tried to flash from IPMI it just hung on some percent and then BIOS appeared as empty or corrupted. None of the methods I knew were applicable - over IPMI web, SMCIPMItool or super.rom The only thing that worked is SUM, with DCMS lic, and I...
