    $127 Cisco ENCS5412/K9 Xeon-D 1557 (12 core), 32G ram

It helped a lot. It's the main backbone to all of this and playing around led to getting PoE management to work.

I don't have an Cisco account. Could you DM me a link to the ISO? i want to check it out to see if they added new features to the NFVIS switch management. Also, the TUI should not be impacted by Proxmox 9.

I just completed the LAG implementation on the TUI -- also it now can self update to the latest release on github. TE1/2 are actually the X710 backplane so messing with them is not a good idea. TE3/4 are most likely for the NIM but I don't have any on hand to test and most likely if you install...

    $127 Cisco ENCS5412/K9 Xeon-D 1557 (12 core), 32G ram

I was not able to get 9.2 installed on this box and I was going to do an upgrade to check if the TUI i made still works in configuring the switch. I am still on bios version 2.5 and CIMC 3.2 (or something really early). I actually haven't been able to upgrade the bios or CIMC at all through the...

    $127 Cisco ENCS5412/K9 Xeon-D 1557 (12 core), 32G ram

It's been fun playing around with this thing. Currently rolling Promox (8.4, 9.2 installer doesn't seem to work with this server) with a customized almalinux image with the switch passthrough (based on NFVIS 4.15.5). PoE works and I'm creating a TUI to manage the switch. I'll post the repo soon...

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

You need a host in order to provision the card first and then it can run on its own. These cards come preconfigured to run in DPU mode by default from my understanding. They also have the OS preloaded. However, in the instance of used cards, they have been provisioned and so a host is needed to...

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

Yea. It was mostly the firmware upgrade that made me think there was a BMC on the card. Seeing it try to upgrade and then fail/skip was concerning. Lost a good few hours just to find out it's not on this card. Not a huge deal considering I don't have a use case for it in how I will be using them.

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

FYI. I think the BMC on these cards are secure-locked. I haven't been able to access the BMC and now it's not advertising after the BFB upgrade. I need to do more reading to get an understanding on whether BMC creds can be reset and how to check if it's secure-locked (which would require talking...

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

Np. Your starting point is: https://developer.nvidia.com/doca-downloads I believe 3.4.0 is the latest one (I could be wrong but it will give you a fresh 24.04 ubuntu image.) I only mentioned 3.2.2 because that was my starting point so you can just go with 3.4.0 for the latest image and firmware...

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

These come with a preconfigured image on the DPU. After installing doca 3.2.2 (https://developer.nvidia.com/doca-3-2-2-download-archive), make sure to put it into rshim boot mode before pushing the new BFB image. echo 'BOOT_MODE 0' | sudo tee /dev/rshimN/misc sudo cat /dev/rshimN/misc | grep...

HP / HPE Moonshot Unofficial Reference Guide

Has anyone tried swapping the fans on the EL1000 with something like the Arctic server fans? There's a 15k and 6k RPM version. I was thinking of swapping it out for a 6k but not sure if that would provide adequate airflow. I assume even the 15k would be a quieter option considering the acoustic...

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

I had a seller once send two Xeons (the newer scalable models) wrapped by a sheet of paper in a manila envelope. No padding. They rubbed against one another during shipping that a few of the SMDs came off during shipping and one CPU had a dinged up corner.

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

The two I ordered arrived today. Packaging was pretty bad. Seller shoved it in a barely big enough bubble mailer envelope and squeezed it in to a small USPS Priority box. The SMDs dug into the bubble mailer and I just hope that none of them came off. I would have preferred that they wrapped it...

    $85 - $90 - NVIDIA MBF2H332A-AECOT BlueField-2 SmartNIC P-Series DPU 25GbE PCIe4

It should but you need to add it to an actual system first to switch to DPU mode.
