No boot to NVMe on new server; which option?

I wish you would share how to boot onboard nvme on x10SDV as you would solve the issue for myself and several others as well. I personally own 5 or more of these boards. As far as I know it can only be done using a pcie adapter card.

No boot to NVMe on new server; which option?

Edited: After further testing the x10SDV, this board allows booting the onboard nvme if set to uefi only mode in the boot settings. My below post is not accurate... "There is no nvme boot on the whole x10 series. There is some modified x9 bios files out there to support boot from nvme but i do...

    X10SDV

The appeal of the x10 series for us was always the ability to run them whisper quiet. The 16 core is not the same it is loud. I feel like this is why the sentiment.

    Supermicro Superserver PCIe NVMe Problems

Note that this series of supermicro boards do not support booting off of m.2 natively. We use satadoms to boot off. As for your sata issue how is the backplane connected to your motherboard? Is that controller enabled? If the controller(option rom) is enabled you should establish how to...

    Supermicro Superserver PCIe NVMe Problems

I believe in order to use 4: x4 devices you would have to have a x16 in x16 slot in order to bifurcate 4x4x4x4 which is what is required by your card.

    Supermicro Superserver PCIe NVMe Problems

    According to your motherboard manual your board is configured as follows: 8 PCI-E 3.0 x16 (double-width), 2 PCI-E 3.0 x8 (in x16 slot), 1 PCI-E 2.0 x4 (in x16 slot) Are you sure you are in a x16 slot and not a x8 in a x16 slot?

OpenBSD as a NAS speed check with samba

Samba speeds with OpenBSD, are you getting better than ~140MB per second? I have been down the OpenBSD as a NAS journey lately and use only OpenBSD for both the server and the client. Both on 7.6 release with 10GB networking in place serving Samba. The network switch is enterprise grade. The...

    Adguard...a (good) reality check

When will businesses wise up that everything typed while using their products is absorbed by them to use however they please? The push for cloud only makes it worse by making all your data now their data. Hostile is an understatement.

    New X10sdv TLN4F (Rev 2.00). 8 core - 1541. For $369 - 2 available

To be fair I believe they are worth more now than they originally sold for in 2015. We own several and find it hard to find another true server that can idle about 35 watts and be whisper quiet.
