    RackChoice 2U 8 Bay chassis

Hey everyone, I'm sharing my recent experience with a DIY NAS build using the RackChoice 2U 8-bay chassis I got for about $340 on Amazon. Link to the chassis: https://a.co/d/89ATtlp First, I was looking for something with a backplane and bays ready to go in the case. This rack choice was one...

Qotom 1U Rack .. Atom C3758R (Fan Replacement?)

Thanks for the info. I still think I might look into a better cooling solution. Not having any temp problems, but would like to quiet it down if possible. I just bought 4 Noctua 80mm fans for my 2U DIY NAS chassis for the same reason.

    12gen N-series Nas motherboard (topton, cwwk, ... )

I used the port closest to the motherboard and have no issues booting unraid with it. I imagine they are both data-enabled, though, as they look to share a controller. I am wondering about the bios updates and which ones are applicable (several options on CWWK website), but I likely won't do...

Qotom Denverton fanless system with 4 SFP+

I do have the rack mount version, I suppose I could have mentioned that. I have tempos similar to everyone else from what I can tell. I wonder what Antioch's temps are that he is concerned with this. To his point though. I would also be interested in some sort of tuning guide on these devices.

Qotom Denverton fanless system with 4 SFP+

Mine doesn't seem to run too hot, usually in the low 40s, including while it is working (not too hard, just OPNSense and Home Assistant). I have though about getting a second one of these and turning it into a 1@ or 2U NAS (make a custom front panel with hotswap bays), but I think a turnkey...

Qotom 1U Rack .. Atom C3758R (Fan Replacement?)

Does this fan have the same header as the one listed on Amazon in your original post? I'm not having any fan issues, other than it seems to run pretty loud all the time with core temps sitting around 42-45C. What is your experience with fan speeds? It's not a huge issue, but I am wondering what...

Qotom Denverton fanless system with 4 SFP+

Unfortunately I don’t have an answer for you on this. I don’t have a setup to run this at 18+ Gbps. I do have the hardware to do it, if I get some time in the coming months maybe I will test this out. As a side note, I have a 2.5Gbe network across my entire house, with a 10Gbe connection...

Qotom Denverton fanless system with 4 SFP+

I’m In either case, it’s something to look into. On the switch side of things, I can use any of the SFP+ ports on the switch with the one I have working with my OPNSense VM, no issues there. I might look at my config more closely, haven’t had much time between work and other stuff around the...

Qotom Denverton fanless system with 4 SFP+

First, thanks for the quick reply. For the kernel question, I will have to go back and look. I honestly don’t remember how I have it configured off the top of my head. Here is the switch I am using: https://a.co/d/2sBwSBn i haven’t looked into firmware updates, but now I’m having problems...

Qotom Denverton fanless system with 4 SFP+

First, thanks for any assistance here, I am a newb at this type of setup. Has anyone else had this issue with proxmox? To set the stage here, I am using the 1U rackmount device and the SFP+ interface names in proxmox are eno1, eno2, eno3, eno4 and the RJ45 interfaces are enp4s0, enp5s0, enp6s0...
