There is another option to use the 40gig ports. Get a qsfp breakout cable then get a SFP+ to 10gig baseT media converter. https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/generic-qfsp-to-rj45-breakout-cables.34814/

Sorry I was editing my post before I saw your response. If you refresh you will see I changed some things. is your nas baseT only or are you using an SFP+ card? If so use a dax cable unless you need a long run.

    Dell N2224X-ON Power-Switch 24x 2.5GbE 4x SFP28 25GbE 2x QSFP+ ($257.99)

From my understanding that the front SFP28 ports are linked. So if you wish to use it at 10gb then all 4 must work at 10gb. No mix and matching. the 40gb in the back you need to change the ports from stacking to Ethernet. Then you can use either a qsfp to 4x SFP+ break out dax cable or find an...

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

Nice, I work for an ISP and "could" use dark fiber to span just about anywhere I wanted to do so in our local footprint and have true line rate and pretty much zero latency. Can dream. Not worth it though.

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

offsite as in through the net or just between buildings on your property? at any rate, it is nice to have it working. Whats just bizarre is that it worked before and upgrading borked something. I shouldn't have had to switch protocols just to make it work after a kernel update.

    First SR-IOV Setup

Good luck, I've considered switching over to proxmox from esxi how ever the pci pass through hurdles is what has stopped me from attempting it. Maybe if I can build a new machine and fiddle around to learn proxmox so as not to take down my production for an extended period maybe I might switch...

Strange smart reporting on HGST 10tb sas drives

So, it appears that I was correct. For some odd reason smart is resetting POH at the start of a test Self-test results page [0x10] Parameter code = 1, accumulated power-on hours = 0 self-test code: background extended [2] self-test result: self test in progress [15] Parameter code...

Strange smart reporting on HGST 10tb sas drives

So, long story short I am looking at replacing a bank of 3tb sata drives from my Truenas pool. I have a bank of 10tb hgst sas drives in the other dev and since I have a few cold spares I decided I might as well just buy 6 matching drives that way I don't need to purchase spares as I already have...

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

When I was looking at doing this when I went to esxi and vms, there was concerns that having both on the same dataset could run into issues. Its why I chose to just run smb. I guess I could change all the vms over to nfs and just leave the smb for when I prune with windows.

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

Id rather use NFS how ever I also use windows as my daily driver due to games. and being able to access the media for pruning etc is why I went smb. The issue I'm having makes NO sense. It literately works just fine on an older version of ubuntu. I honestly don't need to upgrade ubuntu how ever...

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

Ok, so to add to the further confusion. At the moment with your fstab and I didn't try this before. If I set sab to download to a local directory it works and leaving the completed folder on the cifs share it has no issue pushing the completed file to that. right now it seems it never was an...

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

Yes, i verified my uid and gid is 1000 along with sabnzbd is running on my user. along with your fstab suggestion minus doing the credentials. I'm not concerned much with needing to hide that as I'm the only one who has access to the vms etc. at anyrate that didn't resolve the issue. Second...

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

Sab is standalone app running in the background of the server. As i said I wanted to get away from jails/containers etc. when I first broke out of using plugins from jails and went to using vms in esxi I tried the snap install version of sab and that did not work at all. I then installed via...

Need help. Sabnzbd nfs share permissions

I am loosing my mind trying to figure out this stupid issue. Background on issue. I run an esxi host that hosts a truenas vm for NFS and VM storage on the esxi host. With that being said I run several ubuntu server vms that each run different programs. Plex, sabnzbd, heimdall, overseerr...
