Review Request: HP Flex IO 10Gbit module

Thanks! Yes I did RMA it. It is on the way back to B&H. Meanwhile I will search for it from the local second hand market. You are right. Not changing the model number creates a lot of confusion. It shouldn't happen

Review Request: HP Flex IO 10Gbit module

Thank you very much for taking the effort to share the photo! The difference I can see is that mine doesn't have the corner cut indicated in the photo below. That's the part that collides with CPU heatsink. I also took a further look and noticed this model is only compatible with HP Z2 Mini...

Review Request: HP Flex IO 10Gbit module

I bought this HP 10Gb Ethernet Flex IO 56Q71AA from B&H Photo hoping that it would fit my HP elitemini 800G9. Sadly it doesn't fit. The heatsink and the chip module collides with the CPU heatsink and there is no room to fit. It seems HP has changed the design but still use the 56Q71AA as the...

    Rack mount NAS build

Buy a couple of Intel Optane drives for metadata and slog vdev, you will have better experience with the NAS. They don't have to be big in size. A few hundreds for metadata and 32-64gb for slog should be enough

Thank you for introducing this MB to me. I didn't know the existence of the motherboard with such new connectors. Will definitely think about this. 8 NVMe ports PCIe 5.0 x4 via 4 MCIO connectors May I ask you one more question - what CPU do you recommend for the system using this X13SEM-F MB?

U.2/U.3 NVME NAS Motherboard and CPU recommendations

I have 6x 6.4TB NVME (U.3/U.2) enterprise disks and I would like to use them in a TrueNAS Scale server as my main NAS. I am contemplating the motherboard and CPU choice. My main goal is to have low power consumption yet good read/write performance. There are a few things in my consideration set...
