That is correct I ran memtest86 from the bootable usb while in the device. I did not test the new memory yet, which is my next step. I also removed the SSD and tested it with crystal disk info in regards to its health which it is a healthy boy, that was placed back into the device to continue work.
Yeah makes sense you should have to do isolated testing and debugging for China on an all in one solution since they do not provide any documentation with the device. Guess I should test each resistor to make sure it is good? Thought my testing one component at a time was a pretty acceptable...
I do also have a new powersupply on the way, however we are at a day and a half uptime with the hk Hynix Ram. I am hopeful that is the cause and it is corrected. I am currently at a day and a half uptime.
to note for the powersupply I did get the anker one someone referenced near page 100 or so...
I would like to express that so far I do agree with what you have noted here and referenced. Thank you for your knowledge on this matter. I ordered both a Samsung and a Hynix ram stick(I cancelled the Samsung because it kept getting delayed in shipping.) the 8gb SK Hynix so far has lasted in my...
I am glad you had good luck with your crucial ram, hopefully this week I will have my new PSU and ram to test. I got one PSU recommended around page 100 or so(the anker) and I don’t know if it’s the anker block or the cord itself but the system won’t power on with it hooked up. So I ordered...
PFsense has some system/general logs. However when the crash occurs there are never any indications on restart in the logs. If you are referring to the boot up process and what it puts into those logs I would have those. I don’t know if anything would be built into those logs that would hint at...
I felt like the only thing I changed in the bios is the auto reboot after losing power, however I did go through it a second time to look at options and I don’t think I changed anything, however after doing that and reinstalling a fresh PFSense I ran it with default settings. I did notice...
Well bummer just before it hit 3 days it restarted. Well back to the drawing board. When the RAM gets delivered that may be my only hope at this point.
Well I am still waiting on the ram, but with Intel speed shift enabled through pfsense at 90% energy efficiency it has maintained uptime and we are approaching three days. I wonder why this setting is so effective at curbing its issues. Maybe the CPU was ramping up the wattage of the machine too...
It is at almost 24 hours uptime with messing with the speed shift set to 90% conservative. Once the new ram arrives I will swap that in and see what settings it allows. I was going to also put a 120mm fan on there and I have an arctic on standby to go on. I will still figuring out how I wanted...
Okay thank you. I went with this Samsung 8GB DDR5 5600MHz PC5-44800 CL46 SODIMM 1Rx16 Single Rank 1.1V 262-Pin Laptop RAM Memory M425R1GB4BB0-CWM it was a decent price on Amazon, so hopefully I can test it with this.
Okay thank you for the tip and research experience I will look for a different RAM module to test out, do you have the specific model of either RAM stick you have used without issue?
Well I let my friends convince me to try and create my own home network so I can learn some new skills. Learning and programming my layer 3 switch was fun, and getting it ready to go and connect to my N150 Mini Pc firewall started out as fun but soon turned into a nightmare. Not sure how I let...
