Fear of bricking my board. I have no experience with the tools, and I have 2-4 machines to mess with. The priority system for Windows is the X9 DRW-7TPF, which is a pretty special board with Dual Broadcom 10Gb/s, Dual Mini-SAS. I think the BIOS is complicated and unique. I have not located a...
X9 DRW-7TPF, X9DRW-CF, X9DRD-7fln4 and
X9DRW-CTF31 I wanted a solution that works on all. the clover is working well but with the X9 bios limitations it is hard to get win 11 installed and booting from NVMe. I have it just trying to make it fool proof.
I am a hoarder. I have an addiction and...
I have three X9 machines and wanted to add NVME boot capability. I did not find the modified BIOS and did not want to undertake modding all three. Here is the solution I worked out using CLOVER. The X9 Bios is very picky. I have it working, but some issues in the install scripts so I took them...
SOLVED: After days of chasing this, I finally made a breakthrough using Clover in a short time. The Supermicro X9 is very picky, and previous attempts at using Clover were unsuccessful. In this implementation, the system boots from an M.2 SATA drive not a USB. It uses Clover to load the NVMe...

I have hit a brick wall trying to get DUET to boot my X9 from NVME. There is an incompatibility with the display driver. It crashes the DUET script when the Nvme driver is loaded. I can manually execute the steps from the built-in AMI UEFI monitor. There is an incompatibility with the GTX 750 ti...
The X9 bios is strange. There is no Legacy/UEFI switch. They attempted to hide this by checking the drive partitions and only going to UEFI if the structure was perfect. This creates problems because newer UEFI systems do not behave that way. I had a heck of a time loading Windows 11 because...
I used Clover on another system with full UEFI support, but the Supermicro X9 has a partial UEFI implementation and it did not work. That is when I started a journey, trying the alternatives that Copilot was suggesting. I tried this partly to learn a little about that AI tool. That was a very...
I am still trying to get this chainloader to work. The direct chain method did not work. the more complicated linked chain is not working either. Sometimes the NVME is attached and other times it is not loaded in time. I need a time delay so the driver has a chance to load. The default windows...
I have 3 - X9 motherboards I want to boot to NVMe they are all different so a lot of bios updates. I thought this might be easier (probably is not). I found the right bcdedit tools on a win7 iso. Still have not made the boot chain to work yet. Will keep trying.

The problem is that the BCDEDIT commands needed were removed in later versions of Windows but should be intact in the Win 7 version.
Here is the approach:
The NVME has a cloned Windows partition (no EFI)
The system boots off a SATA drive then through the BCD passes control to the Windows 11...
I put this on the shelf for a while. But I have been working with Coilot, and while I have found a lot of dead ends. Booting from a different drive and vectoring this to the NVME does not work, as the NVME driver does not get loaded in time, so there is a failure as Windows boots. Colilot tells...
Are you getting the activities indicator to work on non-hp drives? I have the HP expander between the drives and the LSI controller and I do not have HP cable that came with that. I did not inspect the cables but I do not think they have the extra wires.
I loaded Windows Server 2016 only to run the Dell Firmware update utility, as it does not have a Windows 11 version. I planned to update the firmware then go back to the Windows 11 load. I suspected the Broadcom firmware might be the issue because I had so much trouble with the embedded LSI 2208...
I looked at the DELL files, but I could not figure out the commands to run. I will try to contact Supermicro. But this board is an orphan. All the other X9DRW boards use the Intel chipset for the 10Gb. Since I am trying to run Win 11, which is not supported with the E5-2667 CPU, I don't think...
I am having trouble finding the firmware/bios for the Broadcom 57810S dual SFP+ ports integrated on this motherboard. I am trying to install Windows 2016 server on the X9DRW motherboard. Windows is not seeing the device, and installing the driver does not work. I have tried using the DELL DPU...
It looks like the LSI 2208 BIOS was the issue. I had a lot of trouble finding the updated bios for the integrated LSI 2208. The Supermicro site had the MB bios but not the SAS bios. Broadcom seems to have stuff this old locked down. I found the work of @mmaximko Bios update video
and the...
