Thanks, I’ll give it a try. I guess having a 6pin to a 12VHPWR adapter might be a fire hazard…
The Supermicro PDU looks to have the cables on a single rail however.
Thanks for much for the replies so far, and really appreciate the details in understanding how those connect pins actually function. Maybe it’s better I lay out my current setup and the options with the suggestion in mind so far —
GPUs that need powering:
1) 4090 (325W) - 12VHPWR
2) 4080S...
I read somewhere that Supermicro confirmed that the PT747-4648 PDU can deliver significantly more than the 75W in the 6-pin PCIe pigtail connectors. It’s only from one thread that I can’t seem to find anymore. In general, I’d be more worried for other consumer PSUs, but Supermicro may be able to...
Hi, I’m currently am looking to add an RTX 4090 GPU to my existing server, which is using Supermicro PSU and PDUs. As such, I only have 2x 6-pin PCIe and 1x 8-pin PCIe connectors available. Since I’m setting the power limit (325W) on the 4090 to 325W, can I use the 4x 8-pin PCIe to 12VHPWR...
Hi, I currently am using a pair of Xeon 8176 ES QL1F CPUs on my SM X11DPH-T motherboard with BIOS v2.1. It’s been rock solid for many years but I’m finally needing to upgrade the BIOS to 3.x to have Above 4G resizable bar support so that I can use vGPU functions on my nVidia V100 GPU for Proxmox...
Ok, after spending a few more hours troubleshooting, I've come to several conclusions...
It's not a POE problem after all on the 7450-32ZP 2.5Gb ports. I brought back an extra Unifi AC HD AP (1Gb connection) and a Unifi U7 Pro (2.5Gb connection), all with latest firmware. The U7 works with POE...
Hi Nathan, thanks for the pointers. Just did the cycling of the inline power in the 2.5G ports and still no success. Let me bring the AP from my office home again and I’ll plug it into a misbehaving port to update soon
Hi, I've been spending more time trying to figure out the 2.5Gb port POE+ problem on my 7150-32ZP and still getting stuck. The APs run on the non 2.5Gb ports and one 2.5G port (#30), but #25-29,31,32 are the ones giving me trouble. Here's the output of show inline power below. Any help would be...
Hi, I’m the member who bought the 7450-32ZP and thanks for asking the forum for helping me out. To confirm, I’ve turned off auto negotiation and set it to either 2.5G and 1G to the relevant ports within the 8-port 2.5G group.
Here’s the output of show inline power details:
Power Supply #1...
omg, I think you’re right. I tried plugging in the HDMI cable and it won’t even show the BIOS. I may have disabled it. I removed the battery the trying the reset the CMOS right now. But after 30mins, the CMOS isn’t reset. I’ll try to install a dGPU to see if I can change the settings. Thank you
I just got the MS-A2 and running Proxmox on it. So far so good and it’s working with 128GB RAM and I’m testing ceph on it. However, I’m not getting the 610M iGPU exposed. I have IOMMU on and this is what I see when I output lspci -nn:
00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc...
Thanks for the tip on #1…may give that a try if I have time. As for DLS broken from updates, basically to keep it working, is to not update to the latest drivers and wait until a later DLS version comes out to ensure continued compatability?
As for DLS, would you know if it works with later...
Just to be certain of the current status of things, is this correct:
1) vgpu_unlock doesn’t work with ESXi
2) vgpu_unlock doesn’t work with Ampere+ cards
3) FastAPI-DLS is working up to v3.1 so basically all cards up to Ampere that has vgpu capability (irrespective of host thus ESXi = ok)
Not...
