IPMI still says older version R04. Even though the system will post now the bios update through the ipmi still just hangs on 99%. But at least I can do the bios update in EFI shell now. I have experienced this issue before with other motherboards that just wont update over ipmi

I do. ryzen 7600x with 2x sticks of ddr5 4800 ecc udimm from micron. I've also tried a stick of gskill 6000 16gb. the system did post before attempting this update. made sure ram was in the right slot. ryzen memory training can be a pain sometimes.
