You won't see heat issues with 2.5 or 5gb cards. They run quite cool.

That would work fine, but its more money than you really need to spend for a Realtek. Same card, half the price. https://www.amazon.com/GLOTRENDS-Ethernet-RTL8125BG-PCI-Express-Compatible/dp/B0BLN82WQ4

The Intel I-225 and I-226 are 2.5gb capable cards. Early revisions of them had nasty issues though, so make sure to get at least a rev 3 card. If you want a data center type card, the X710 should do 2.5gb.

    need an ethernet card recommendation

I've never used them, but I know they're a more obscure card and fairly power hungry. If I was going to use a data center grade card, I'd go with either a Mellanox 4x LX, or one of the newer Intel's. Regarding heat production, that's one of the reasons I suggest Realtek for your needs. They're...

You should be fine on PCI-express bandwidth. Regarding the performance of the Realtek cards, there's been plenty of recent reports of them performing just fine as long as current drivers are used. The latest Realtek cards are also very power efficient as well.

realtek 8125 would be a fine choice, just make sure you're using the latest drivers. You don't mention what part of the world you're in, but if you're in the US, you can get the 8125's from Amazon for well under $20.

    RTL8127 for Linux?

There's a big thread on the various Realtek 10gb NIC's on the market here. https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/realtek-10-gbe-usb-adapters-might-be-on-the-way.47683/ My personal observations - They work fine IF you have the latest drivers installed. In terms of Linux, that means...

Realtek 10 GbE USB Adapters might be on the way?

I'd order from Alibaba, but the import fee's are huge. On Aliexpress I don't get hit with the import fee's. I just need to wait a bit until there's more sellers on Aliexpress.

Realtek 10 GbE USB Adapters might be on the way?

I recently got in a RTL8127, the 1x pcie 4 variant. I tested it in an AMD 9700X system with an ASUS X870 tuf gaming motherboard, newest bios. I used the bottom slot (pcie 4.0 4x) for testing. The test system is connected to an unmanaged HiSource switch (4 2.5gb ports, 2 SFP+ ports) that is...

    AOC-S25G-i2S SFP28 NIC works in hp dl360?

in theory yes, but you never know if HP does something goofy in their bios that will cause an issue. Keep in mind Supermicro just buys their network cards from Broadcom or Intel or Mellanox and slaps their name on it. What model Supermicro cards are you looking at ?
