Well the x710 is embedded and it worked with that gtek one even though it was super hot so I'm hoping it should. Minisforum advised some time ago the 710 wasn't locked so fingers crossed.
I know its slightly off topic but I have ordered one of the zyopm 100m ones for the x710 port. I asked and they said it should work no problem so I hope that's the case. £25 inc vat
Hi
So I tried one of these. Whilst it appears to work it runs super hot.

I was not aware the longer ones run cooler.... maybe its worth a go with a 80m one?
Thanks
My isp only supports rj45 10gb off the ont. I did try a sfp to rj45 module but it ran so hot I wasn't happy to leave it like that tbh.
I'll try again lol

My ms01 pfsense runs a x540 for 10gb wan & x710 sfp to zyxel 10gb switch for the lan. It pulls 25-35w depending on what its doing..no issues with heat with my additional fan. I just like qotom kit as had it before so was very interested.

Thanks for the info. That's a shame. it would be a great unit for my 8gb/8g. I current use an ms01 i5 whicg works fine but I would prefer to use it for other duties. I wonder if it works on opnsense?
Hi. I'm sorry to go slightly off topic but would anyone be able to clarify if the 10gb rj45's are fully supported by pfsense? My isp gives me 8/8gb over rj45 and I would like to use one of these if the nics are supported by pf..?
Thanks
Thanks for the info. My isp provides 8gb/8gb via rj45 and my lan is mostly 10gb again over rj45 so I need to use 2 x 10gb to rj45 modules.
I emailed protect cli about sfp to rj45 10gb modules and they replied saying any modules should work which clearly isn't the case.
Would you mind sharing...
Thanks for all the info. One of the issues is my ISP provides my connection over 10gb rj45 hence why I was looking to use a card but I'm thinking I might give one of those modules a go.
Thankyou. Could you recommend a suitable module I could possibly try. Its a mine field...
Heat wouldn't be an issue if opting for a physical card over the sfp ports? Cheers
Hi
I hope someone can help. I am interested in ordering an i9 version and have a question.
I asked the manufacturer about wether its possible to install a dual 10gb RJ45 network card in the pci slot... the answers I have received refer to video cards which isn't helpful.
Does anyone know if...
