It's amazing how this tiny company is so incredibly responsive to our feedback. I already have my N100 board from CWWK so I am going to just turn off the JMB585 and make the most of it.
Thanks! Yeah, there is a similar option on CWWK but I think the layout of the PCIe ports are different. I will try to line up the ports listed in BIOS and target it.
Most of CWWKs offerings are intended to be running 24x7. They are multi-NIC and multi-drive systems that run NASes...
My CWWK board arrived, time to experiment!
So far everything is working fine. I ran MemTest86 for a couple hours with zero errors. I was also able to be Ubuntu Server installed on it without a single hiccup.
One observation about the HDMI port - it works, but not with all monitors...
Well that sucks. I already ordered mine and am waiting for delivery. I hope they get back to you soon. I've had good luck with them in the past.
UGH. I can tolerate a few extra watts but that's unfortunate for sure. At least it's still better on power than a typical PC but I wish this was...
Check BIOS, you might need to see if it can be enabled. A few people here have said that the HDMI port only works after setting up BIOS. It defaults to only DP.
This is a challenge of being on the cutting edge. Getting these boards and PCs from AliExpress we are getting hardware a few months before major manufacturers roll them out in products and we stumble into the bugs*. There was recently a major crash/panic bug in Proxmox with another one of...
I can see that being true. The CWWK one has USB-C, which would require its own PCI-e lane, whereas the BKHD one leaves out USB-C entirely. That tradeoff could let them dedicated PCIe lanes to both slots instead of sharing.
I placed my order for the CWWK version. A few of the reasons I went with that one over the BKHD:
1. I've had great luck with CWWK in the past. My CWWK OPNsense box has been running 24x7 and 100% solid for more than a year. There has been not a single hiccup.
2. I spent a long time comparing...
The sad and interesting thing about that is that I growingly prefer it to dealing with some of the big manufacturers. Usually with them you end up in customer support purgatory and never get to talk to an engineer. In our case we have forums like this one where people are very knowledgable...
IIRC in one of the YouTube videos STH did buy RAM from them as included in one of their kits and it was fine. Obviously it was a Chinese brand not really known in the west but it worked and tested okay.
As chripo mentioned, I'd try DisplayPort first though. :)
Yeah, thankfully this forum helped me find them directly and my experience was MUCH better than going through one of the non-OEM resellers.
With another CWWK system members of this forum found that there were indeed some nuances to picking out compatible RAM. Luckily when I bought my last...
It looks like CWWK is the OEM. Many of us on this site have bought CWWK mini computers for their extensive network connectivity. That's exactly the reason I bought a CWWK system. I suspect that they see just how popular their multi-NIC offerings are and figure it's an in-demand feature and...
