Usually it doesn't invalidate the license, you just have to reactivate. You may need to use the activation troubleshooter. Make sure to disable BitLocker before you swap the CPU (if it's enabled).
In my Gen 10+ Microserver, I'm using these 2.5" to 3.5" drive adapters and they work great. Don't know if they work in the Gen 11, but if it's a similar caddyless system, I suspect they will.

They might be fine with the speed, but these drives can't handle 24/7/365 usage. One of our clients put some Barracudas in their NAS and they were dead in under 6 months.
I'm probably an outlier here, but I replaced my free ESXi hypervisor with Windows Hyper-V on the same hardware. I'm using the evaluation version of Windows Server 2019 Datacenter.
Under ESXi, I had a Windows Server, piHole, and Xpenology NAS. I transferred the Xpenology data to file shares on...
Check with eBay seller mem-store. I’ve purchased memory from them on multiple occasions and they are very responsive to questions about compatibility.

That depends on where you’re located. Typically, you’d use your ISP’s DNS servers. Or you might want to add some DNS servers that are close geographically. I typically put in one of the ISP’s and then Google’s DNS, and maybe Cloudflare.
Not having DNS forwarders set can make the domain controller, or any computer using the DC for DNS, unable to access the internet. When a computer requests a DNS transaction from the DC's DNS server for an address outside the local network, it sends that request to one of the DNS servers...
I don't usually use 127.0.0.1 for the domain controller's DNS. I set it to the LAN IP that the DNS server listens on. Every time I've used 127.0.0.1 for the server's DNS, it's ended up causing problems for us.
You might also want to check your forwarders in the DNS server and make sure they...
Microsoft's best practices no longer recommend disabling the built-in administrator account on domain controllers because that is the only account that can log in without a global catalog server. In a disaster recovery situation, you could find yourself unable to log in...
Changing the built-in administrator account user name can have adverse consequences in Windows Server. It's best to make a new user account and keep the built-in account for administrative tasks.
That said, Windows Server 2003 hasn't gotten any security updates in at least a decade and is...
I’ve encountered some malicious redirects from the main page this week. I’m not sure if they trigger when I click on a site element or if they are drive bys.
I know this is a few days later, but for posterity, once you have Windows installed, get the Lenovo Vantage app from the Microsoft Store and run it. That should grab all the drivers and any UEFFI updates for the machine.
TP-Link Omadas are nice, but we’ve had some issues with them working properly in scenarios with multiple APs and iPhones and iPads. My understanding is there is some issue with MTU, but the Omadas don’t let you make changes to the setting.
I’ve purchased memory from them on several occasions also. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them. They’ve also been helpful in answering questions about memory compatibility.
