    Running it with the cover off would indeed be unusual ha. I was trying to see if you had an idea of the sound dampening ability of the case. Open/closed = 50% softer or such. The only cheap drived in my region are enterprise and just concerned about noise. Paying more for lower capacity, "NAS"...

    Thank you! Again, I'm seriously looking at the same use cases, was just thinking this would be my first homelaby thing, so I don't know how "heavy" i'd be using it (factorio server?). I oculd spend 50% more for the N305 then N100 board, but feel like I'd sooner move to something supporting ECC...

    I've actually found this thread as I was considering the shown motherboard for my first DIY NAS/Plex/jellyfin server. Is this sort of board usually safe to buy / fit for purpose? It's just so new that's making me hesitate. I'm ready to pull the trigger, but hoping for someone to do an in depth...
