$70 Dual LAN Mini PC w/ i3-1115G4, 8GB, internal PSU

Out of the box, with original OS and no hardware modifications other than removing the tiny RAM cooling fan: mine drew about 12w immediately after boot, tapering down to ~10w after a few hours at idle. Mine has the integrated PSU and measurements done with a basic Kill-a-Watt.

    Dell satadom 64gb

Hey, no worries from me. Many of the great deal threads have some component of troubleshooting or deployment advice, often for some time after the deal is dead. Just not always this....long between posts :p

    Dell satadom 64gb

The only reason I clicked on it...was on the lookout for 64GB DOMs.

    Dell satadom 64gb

How many pins on the DOM side? If its 2, you can find Supermicro CBL-PWEX-0625 on Ebay, etc. They work with the dedicated SATA DOM power connector on many X10/11 boards. There's often (usually?) one per Orange SATA connector. If, on the other hand, the DOM has a 3 pin power connector, then...

$70 Dual LAN Mini PC w/ i3-1115G4, 8GB, internal PSU

@Wellington Thanks for all the wisdom you've shared! Maybe a dumb question, but when you're talking about removing the fan, is it just the one over the RAM, or the one on the CPU Heatsink as well? I'll be using mine as a home Firewall/Router (pfSense), so it won't get much of a workout and...

$70 Dual LAN Mini PC w/ i3-1115G4, 8GB, internal PSU

Got mine today. $55 BO accepted almost immediately. Manufacture date was 11/30/21. Pretty of grubby, with lots of caked on dust both inside and outside in the ports & ventilation holes. I suppose not totally unexpected in a signage appliance, but this one will require a bit of clean-up...

I thought the Intel Atom was supposed to be a power miser

This is what you get for using something called Core Temp for power consumption info. You should have used Core Watts!

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

My 480GB HHHL cards are PCIe 3.0, so yeah they aren't the fastest anymore. But back in 2020 when I got a handful of them new for $44 each, they were a pretty OK deal IMHO. Same for the "new", well unused at least, 1.2TB SSD 750s for $65. And everything is still chugging along. Since they're...

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

…and boot/data drives on your kids gaming rig. Every little bit of speed helps. :DEspecially when you run across brand new ones on eBay for less than $50. I’m still not sure what that seller was thinking. But I was his best customer…for about 5 minutes.

Aliexpress: Mitac (Tyan OEM version) S7106 Dual LGA3647 for ~100,-EUR

I have two of these boards. Got them for $50 each on quantity of 2 a few months back, but haven't had a lot of time to tinker with them. As often happens with OEM versions, they are kind of quirky. The Tyan manual and BIOS layout don't really match the OEMness of these, and trying to load the...

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

Not that I'm going to do anything like this now, 'cuz I've got too many projects going ATM. BUT, I can see myself wanting/needing to know about this in the future, so best to ask while its fresh: Which model PSUs are those (I can't make out much detail in the photos)? Are those HP PDBs? Do...

2TB hard drives for 10USD ea

A few years back, I picked up three NIB HP StoreServ 10000 drive magazines, which each had 4xHGST 2TB SAS drives in them, for a little under $4/TB. In my case, I wanted to experiment with various file systems & disk arrays and didn't care about capacity, so long as the drives were all close...

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

Price was good, but not "incredible" for when I bought them 2 years ago. Back then, $45-50 for single pieces seemed pretty common and I offered for 5. Yeah, if I went the AIC route for expansion, I'd need to switch to ATX/mATX. Ports are maxed out on the current ITX based NAS, so no way to...

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

I was tempted, but trying to do a little research before jumping. I set up the home NAS with SSDs to keep noise down (a handful of 1.92tb Samsung I got for $40 each when prices dipped). But, it was so popular with the family….its “full”. So have to get something else. Little cooling fans on a...

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

Maybe the F40/F80 are closer to Dead Sea Scroll levels of antiquity? I think I have an F40 in a box somewhere. I was using it as a paperweight, but it got to be too old even for that.

Supermicro A2SDi-4C-HLN4F onboard HDD power connector

Anyone know what the power delivery rating/limit is for the 4 pin onboard HDD power connector on these (JPH1)? Can't seem to find anything on it.

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

Yeah, SATA is definitely indicated. But prices are on them are kinda nuts right now, so I keep checking options to see if there's some well behaved PCIe/SAS that I may have missed. The "Family NAS" has a handful of literally unused when I got them 1.92TB SM863s I got for $44 each a couple...

    Enterprise SSD "small deals"

Thanks. That answers the question nicely! My dream of low power AND (relatively) low price in a 3+ TB drive remains unfulfilled. :p Personally I don't mind a bit of power draw, but achieving domestic bliss and WAF require me to my "computer junk" (wife and kid's term) in my home office...

Anyone know the power consumption on the Sandisk Sx350 series. I can’t seem to find anything on that. Just wondering if they are heaters like most other PCIe storage of that generation.
