Yeahhhhhh that’s a bit of a wait. I just had something sent normal post from Germany to the US and it only took 10 days total.
I hope you got yours.
The four I bought were all 50-55% life remaining. I’ve got seven of them in a RAIDZ-1 and holy shit they are fast.
So I bought two MCX455A-ECAT adapters and a compatible QSFP28 cable that supports 100Gbps/EDR speeds.
If I have the cards in Ethernet mode they connect 100GbE no problem.
The problem I run into is when switching the cards to IB mode the link tops out at FDR/56Gbps.
mstlink gives me an error...
I imagine it’s this one. 3 available, $579 obo, free shipping. I was hoping it had SXM2 support but it seems like it will take full sized GPUs in PCI-E format.

That makes me feel a bit better about not countering with $80 first, since he denied 75/9. Also that shipping is crazy.
two of them left, it went from 20 to 2 in less than 24 hours. I guess someone else saw my post.
If you did it in the beginning I would try again. I think at first he kind of had an “I know what I got” attitude, but since it’s been a week and there are still 20 something left he may be a bit more flexible. My offer of 80 a week ago for three was ignored, but 75/4 he countered with 90/4, and...
That seems like a really good price because I want to say the PCI-E versions of those are something like $600. However I would be worried about it fitting in my R740 and longevity in general.
Awesome! I mean I am still happy that one of the two drives was good. It also had something like 600GB written and 40 power on hours, so it’s basically new. For $200, not bad.
Hah yours will at least show up! The only thing I get is failure to boot on Dell servers and no error or device on my “normal” pc, and an “unknown usb device descriptor” with a normal micro USB cable. I’ll report back once I try out the UART cables
I have acquired a couple of those Cisco HGST SN200 Ultrastar U.2 drives (I think they came out of a Cisco UCS-M5). One of them works great in my Dell, it boots right up, but the other does a PCI-E training error with my R730 and R740. My newer (14700k/Z790) gaming PC doesn’t complain about it...
I have one of these which is throwing a PCI-E training error in both my R730 and R740, and is not detecting at all on my gaming PC. Has anyone had any luck using the Micro USB port for diagnostics/flashing? I got two of these drives, $200 each, one works perfectly then there is this one. Before...
My second one arrived, it works great, it is basically brand new. The first one won’t boot and of course there is no replacement, ughhhh. Ah well, at least I got one of them.
I got the other NVMe U.2 adapter. I tried the drive on both the R740 and my old R730 and got the same PCI-E training error, so it for sure seems that one is bad. They sent the second one out yesterday, so I’ll see what that brings.
I've got Mellanox DACs. I bought 4 ConnectX-3 Pros already cross-flashed and eight of these DACs from this seller: Mellanox MC2207128-003 40Gb/56Gb Ethernet/Infiniband FDR 3M QSFP+ Cable DAC VPI | eBay. He took $14/each for four of the 3M DACs.
I’ve been pretty content with just using the fae mlxi2c set_fan /PS1/FAN 1 27 (and /PS2 and /FAN) commands from the Mellanox CLI. Now it’s quieter than my R720. I’m pretty happy with it for I think $160 for the switch plus rails.
