Perfect Project TinyMiniMicro Pushing a 1L PC as a Server Concept

I am not talking about Lenovo Tiny (which I also have). I am specifically asking if somebody made a custom riser for HP Elite Mini. Going from this proprietary white connector (see picture) to PCIe or NVMe M.2.

Perfect Project TinyMiniMicro Pushing a 1L PC as a Server Concept

Hello, has anyone managed to make use of the proprietary PCIe connector (the one used for the discrete GPU) for something else? I would like to add a third NVMe.

    Refurb 3060 12GB for $155

Yes, this is a good deal, considering I sold my used 3060 12GB a week ago for $180. The 3060 12GB has still some value as entry level AI card.

New Intel E610 NICs Shown for Low Power 10Gbase-T and 2.5GbE

I don't think they went to intel 4, that's node is very modern and it's wasted in such a card. I think they went with "7nm"-class node, It's still a pretty big jump. Also, I haven't see anywhere where they claim they are using their own manufacturing. They could be using TSMC, they have used...

Realtek 10 GbE USB Adapters might be on the way?

Thanks! I am feel pretty good with the X710-da2 and x710-t2l that i got for cheap recently. They work well even PCIE3x4 slot. Good to know these other options are becoming available.

    32gb optane modules

There is no point to agonize over the cost when it's so low, at that level it cost more to ship that the item itself. If endurance is the only concern, you are better off buying a larger NAND SSD and only use a fraction of it. If you use 1/10th of NAND SSD, the effective endurance of used...

    32gb optane modules

I agree with this infact I have been using SK Hynix BC711 256/512GB as 2230 boot drive.

    32gb optane modules

Hi. $12.50/each for 32GB is good. These M10 modules abound on AliExpress. These older optane modules are not that great. The sequential speeds are well behind what even NAND Gen3 drive can do. The random write perf is better than NAND drives but not nearly as good as the more modern optanes...

CN - ASUS AMD AM4 Pro WS X570-Ace ATX Workstation Mainboard

they would have to eat the tariffs also in that price.

HP Z2 mini G9 - upgrade CPU to Raptor Lake, getting PCA not fully compatible warning

In theory, the 14600 should be a bit better, since it's true raptor lake and not alder lake rebadge. Maybe you got shitty silicon lottery.

HP Z2 mini G9 - upgrade CPU to Raptor Lake, getting PCA not fully compatible warning

One thing of note here. It's generally understood that there is a point of diminishing return when providing more power (e.g. for the 14900 125W being 80% performance of 250W while using half the power). However, there is also the problem of too little power. The efficiency is really a U shaped...

New Intel E610 NICs Shown for Low Power 10Gbase-T and 2.5GbE

There's no RoCE/RDMA (you need E810+ for that). The E610 is a redo of X550 on newer manufacturing process, so I would expect similar number of vf. I think you can get away with passively cooling it or it needs very minimal airflow, that's the only great thing about this card.

Recommendations for Low-Power, Rack-Mountable Firewalls with 10Gb/2.5Gb Support

In my experience, I agree with @kathampy, hence why I am skeptical of the Ubiquiti claims. The Qualcomm chip has some hardware offloading (like most home router SoCs, from Broadcom and Mediatek). The usually implement NAT and L2 switching. These hardware offloads are power efficient but...

New Intel E610 NICs Shown for Low Power 10Gbase-T and 2.5GbE

The X710da2 works fine if you place it in PCIE3x4 (open ended) slot, no bottlenecks. The X550-T2 is PCIe3x4.

HP Z2 mini G9 - upgrade CPU to Raptor Lake, getting PCA not fully compatible warning

New Intel E610 NICs Shown for Low Power 10Gbase-T and 2.5GbE

The E830-XXVDA2 should be more power efficient than the E810-XXVDA2 since it's manufactured with a newer note (Intel 7). I have tested many cards and sometimes the numbers reported on the datasheet are deceiving. For example, I pretty sure that the mellanox cards consume more power than what's...

New Intel E610 NICs Shown for Low Power 10Gbase-T and 2.5GbE

The only thing that this card has really great is the power consumption (sub 5W). However, I believe the X710-t2l has actual power consumption lower that reported on the datasheet (9W). The x710-da2 (~4W) paired with modern (sub 2w) sfp+ to basedT module is also very competitive. Again, I...
