So...how many 2.5" disks can you put in a Chenbro NR40700?

Very good point actually, with the present of U.2 in sff as same as 2.5"Sata drive, OP can skip through 2.5 "Sata and 2280/22110 Nvme with minimal effort while maintaining hot and slow tiers respectfully, keeping the setup much much simpler imo.

    Beginner's question about PDB and/or PSU fault/replacement - PT-825 to replace PT-826?

From my experienxe those PDB (ie 825 and 826) are interchangable, the main different in them should be the output plug, some got more PCI 6pins or PCI 8pin, could not remember which is which. I was in the same situation as you when running various 825 and 826 chassis(s), I love those, they are...

    Huawei 5288 V3 is a good deal?

Got one in storage, havent got time to muck around with them yet. Backplane is Sas3 I think. From my view, they are actually using same mainboard as RH2288v3, and the 1u version 1288v3, there is 2 big threads on STH about them. Dont know how much would be a good deal for you, but from where I...

Any issues or gotchas with using the 12-bay 6Gb/12Gb SAS cages (Inspur?) that have been on AliExpress for the last year or so? SATA support? Series?

Great find. Regarding the downstream port, they're probably for 2 bay 2.5 rear mount boot drives, think I have them last time I bought random thing from Taobao.

SC836/SC846 - Missing fan bracket assistance required

Yeah, the plug bit is just the holder for the extended cable, kind of flimsy in the original one, personally I woudnt be bother, just using a longer fan cable, they are at the back so very easy access.

That M910x Nas is awesome, would love to get my hand on one. The most extreme of Chinese modding I owned is a M910q with the i7 9850H laptop chip and soldered on 2nd M2 Nvme slot like the M910x. That tiny Nas would be another level on its own.

Lenovo Thinkcentre/ThinkStation Tiny (Project TinyMiniMicro) Reference Thread

A few things would required when I tried to put an i7 2600k in the M73p. First should be changing the power brick to more than 90w or the board wont POST at all. 2nd should be the cooling, back in the day the i7 4th K running hot even in the desktop enviroment. Otherwise you good to go.
