Dear Vitrag, thanks a lot for replying to this old thread. In the meantime of couse I've visited DELL support site but they distribute only images for GNS3 virtualization. For DELL physical switch you have to have support contract (which for home LAB is not worth paying).

To be honest having Optane as OS drive is meaningless, but for databases/source file compilations it's a champion. 500 for new p5800x is too low. Not to mention - consider Intel 905P, it will be cheaper.

XFS is good choice for VMs and DB's, Also consider using plain/vanilla block devices - less SW in the path to data -> less problems.
