They are definitely worth considering and I actually completely forgot about those entirely but they do have a larger footprint that I would like considering the space I have to work with. Models could determine for me if its worth considering or not so I will have to investigate with pricing...
Of all the brand names I am seeing these are the most consistent ones:
Beelink
Minisforum
Trigkey
GMKTec
Anyone have experiences with these? Beelink and minisforum seem to be the most popular, last two i never heard of unless amazon displayed them when I was searching.
That is a fair practice to live by.
Open to suggestions but if there isn't any then I guess im settling for what is out there. Anyone had experience with these other brands like Trigkey etc...from amazon? I see them as alternatives but I don't know much about the brand name or reputation.
I am in Canada so my pricing is different by about 40% thanks to our unfortunate exchange rate. So are you recommending the cwwk unit from ali express?
I should note that I don't need multi nic, one is enough as I already have one of those mini PC's being used for Opnsense
Hi everyone,
Looking to get some options for a mini PC i want to use for virtualization via proxmox but I some minor requirements:
- Ryzen 7 5700U preferably because of lower power consumption and its a bit cheaper
- Dual NVME SSD's (preferable but if only options are hybrid of nvme and sata...
Is this the one that is compatible with the CWWK stores?

I was looking at this option because it's a 6port variant but again BIOS updates and the chip have me a little worried. I am also not even sure which revision that is and I don't know how to tell yet. I plan on using it for opnsense so it should be fine BUT i know a lower TDP with a chassis like...
I am curious, are the Qotom boxes the same as these units? Like are they a reseller of the same product?
Do they also get BIOS updates on these boxes or is that all wishful thinking?
Does anyone know if there is a regular gigabit 6 port variation of these little boxes? As much as I would love 2.5Gbe for future proofing, I don't need it and figured a gigabit version could save me some more money.
Is anyone here running one of these boxes as a firewall only and not just a virtualization platform with proxmox? Curious to know what your temps are like and what power brick came with this unit. I know the first initial ones were just horrible.
Not going to bite the bullet just yet on these...
I am looking for the 6port variation and it doesn't seem like v5 is in that flavour I am looking for. What did they change with the 5th version?
What did you polish with? Usually with CPU's I remove paste with rubbing alcohol and apply one that does the job more efficiently.
Really? Noctua...
Hi All,
First post here and a lot of pages on these little devices. Looking to replace my current ubiquiti edge router with one of these for additional security and functionality provided via opnsense.
Seems like these suckers get a little hotter than expected but I will be aiming for the...
