    Micron 7300 offers 960gb in 2280 form factor. I believe m.2 + plp limits 2280 to around 1tb, 1.92tb drives all seem to be 22110.

    Are you on the latest bios? Support may have a beta bios available. I would try a single stick, try each slot. Also check under the processor for bent pins.

    I prefer supermicro for the same reasons. Is the quality and compatibility necessary? Maybe not, but if they are accessible I would definitely pay a good bit more for it. SMC also offers super quiet options on psu/fans. I would wait.
