I ordered a very similar one from WooYi, seems to be the exact same thing. Do you know how an external fan could be hooked up to this? I'm not seeing anywhere to power it, unless the power for the SATA drive is split somehow. I was hoping to throw a 120mm Noctua fan on it to keep it cooler...

Following up here, did anyone ever get the firmware? I also tried creating an account but it requires a valid service contract with Cisco. The one I just purchased is MTFDDAK1T6TCC-1AR16ABCD and is on firmware D0MU054, which apparently is not impacted, but would prefer to update just in case.
