@dmitry.n.medvedev Hi. I've heard/read that people have had issues with CL cpus in the T640. That is unfortunate because for the 8269CY it's literally a drop-in replacement for the official CPUs - No modifications necessary.
Also, I've since updated one of my T640's to a pair of 8280M and these...
Has anyone found a way to flash the BIOS of a P350 Tiny under Linux?
FWUPD offers an update and tries to perform it but after reboot the BIOS I not updated.
I opened an issue here (you can see some outputs): Lenovo ThinkStation P350 tiny never completes the BIOS update. · Issue #8751 · fwupd/fwupd
also nvme id-ctrl reporting 1, is it ok , just one ns??
nvme id-ctrl /dev/nvme0 | grep ^nn
nn : 1
is it possible that your drive is in 'diagnostics' mode? those cards usually have 4 namespaces.
From the output you posted, this seems like a Cisco UCS drive: UCSC-NVMEHW-H76800239, make...

So I've got some good news..
After more than a week of multiple cases, issuesm rejections, redirections WDC finally found someone who:
1) emailed me a firmware image for the drive.
2) provided some tools made by WDC that work under Linux:
# nvme fw-download -f malibux_qs2_GN_R2210010.vpkg...
So the Cisco (CC) file would not upload to my drive but yours did:
# nvme fw-download -f malibux_qs2_CC_R2210002.vpkg /dev/nvme0
Invalid size:3420446 for f/w image
# nvme fw-download -f malibux_qs2_GD_R2210010.vpkg /dev/nvme0
Firmware download success
But when I tried to commit it, I got:

@napalm_atx
Thank you!
Tried to unzip it under recent Fedora (fc38) and got this:
# unzip malibux_qs2_GD_R2210010.zip
Archive: malibux_qs2_GD_R2210010.zip
skipping: malibux_qs2_GD_R2210010.vpkg need PK compat. v6.3 (can do v4.6)
So I used 7za 'x'.

Has anyone located firmwares for the WDC/HGST UltraStar DC SN840 drives? (Model: 0TS2051 and others).
I bought a 'new' drive on ebay and it came with FW R2210000 but I've seen references to newer firmware (R2210002) on the net:

@BackupProphet Absolutely.. and if you forgot to create your zpool with those devices, you can translate to WWN by just importing with /dev/disk/by-id the next time you import the pool:
zpool import -d /dev/disk/by-id <pool>
The problem I was trying to warn about is that most people forget about...
True, I had missed that it was all about a specific 6Gbps card.
I'd say that even in JBOD mode, an H740P is a 12Gbps card and can take faster drives (it's 1GB/s vs 500or MB/s), I see that on the SAS SSDs I got from ebay. But yeah, it's more expensive than the card the Op was considering so if...
My 2c:
Most of the litterature around flashing to IT mode HBAs seems very dated. Most of the people who still recommend and carry this tribal knowledge forward deal with stuff from the days of 6Gbps HBAs which had 256mb-512mb of controller cache and decently slow ASICs. (think the MegaRaid 92XY...
Thank you for sharing!!! This is super useful! I'm sharing it with my pals right now!
SHARING IS CARING! :) :) :) (Yes, I -do- work for an Open Source company) :)
I have been running the 'Valley' GPU benchmark for 20 minutes, GPU at 135W/140W with GPU temp in the 70C-80C. Seems good to go. :)

Happy to report that the A4000 works in the T640 without the GPU kit and with a very simple StarTech adapter I got from amazon:

I've done so many mistakes in my past. These days I try to figure stuff out -before- buying.. :)
With the T640 platform, I kinda have the homelab of my dreams, but it took 25 years of mistakes and bad decisions to get there.
so in this T640 I have:
