Out of curiosity, if I had gone with shielded cable instead of unshielded, how does one ground the shielded cable? Do you ground at the cabinet with a shielded patch panel and simply run the ground wire to the grounding bus bar or is there more to it?
I have a Netgear CM2050V. Love it. I don't use the telephone jack on it. Only ordered the telephone version because the CM2000 was backordered.
It has a 2.5G RJ45 port. Wish it had an SFP+ port.
I also found where they ran CAT6 and terminated it (probably due to running out of cable and needing to "splice" it together). What did they terminate it with? 5e. :rolleyes: Not sure if it would actually prevent 2.5G connections to an access point.
I was tempted to just run fiber, but when I took the wall plate off one of the current office pulls, the cable is damaged with exposed wire. I'm surprised I'm not getting a ton of issues from it.

The 4 computers for 10G are from 50-150 feet (network cabinet/master switch is in the basement, going to offices and bedrooms on top floor). One of the AP's is 25 feet away, one is 75, one is about 100, and one is 150 feet on the other end of the house on the top story.
