Yeah, upon further investigation, it does appear that SlimSAS and the PCIe SIG connector (page 74) in use by Silicom are way, way different. So @zack$'s idea might not hold up. Even when the pin count is the same, they have the funtions on different pins. PCIe SIG has clock signals on A14/A15...
