Yes they are very affordable and have bigger heatsinks. At least with the LSI firmware the energy saving option for HDDs is also disabled for those cards. Although I have never tried to activate it with the original NEC firmware still in place. One can flash the old firmware which is available...
The physical key is for raid 5/6/50/60 support on some of these OEM models. It seems the 2GB have it baked in like the LSI models. I use it with Windows 10 on my PC.
Watercooling info:
Attached is a picture of the card with the Heatkiller NSB waterblock. In my first iteration I omitted the...
I've flashed it with the Megaraid Storage Manager - it's just two clicks. I've attached a link to the firmware I've used as it is hassle to download it from LSI. 9361 firmware
Whilst fiddeling around with my watercooling I managed to destroy my first card and accidently bought a 1GB model of...
As I still use MSM and was annoyed by the inproper scaling on a 4k monitor and the high CPU load of the service I found that:
- Java version jdk-11.0.20 works and has better scaling compared to the recommended dk8u282-b08
- disabling the host discovery gets rid of the high CPU load
I know it's...

Hi folks,
I accidently destroyed my NEC 9362-8i 2GB raid controller flashed with the latest LSI firmware probably whilst the system was powered off. I had my old LSI 9271-4i still around and used it whilst waiting for a replacement 9362-8i 1GB and my virtual drives are all optimal.
After...
Turns out the piggybacking is not necessary. The OEM card had the physical key for raid6 support, which after crossflashing to LSI 9361 became obsolete. The cachecade trial key can be prolonged infinitley, so no physical key is required.
Regarding cachecade:
As I was not sure how cachecade...
Good day,
has anybody tried to stack physical keys for LSI raid controllers?
My 9362-8i NEC OEM card -like most I guess- only has one hardware key slot, which is already populated. As I'd like to add another, I was wondering if the small pcbs could be stacked - meaing connected in parallel...
Hi there,
I am running a NEC 9362-8i crossflashed to LSI 9361-8i (latest firmware) with a Intel RES2SV240 (latest firmware) expander.
Logical Drives:
- Raid 6: 12 x (5-6) TB
- 2 x single drives volumes
- a unconfigured drive
The system runs well, but I have one issue:
When I run a patrol...
