    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

Oh wow very interesting, I wonder wheter it's the same realtek chip in there. If it's the case you could probably crossflash and turn the non l3 into a l3 switch. You would have to take the heatsink off though or check via uboot. AFAIK there is also ongoing work to make it openwrt compatible...

Little update on this, I found a LIR and now got a /44 prefix announced via Vultr I ended up with 1.25$/month for the /44 Prefix + 3.50$/month for VPS.

VPS as VPN to get Dual Stack at Home ? (CGNAT / IPv4 only)

Lo and behold I'm looking to get into BGP peering now, since Vultr BGP is free and a /48 IPv6 prefix is like 20$/year Just need to find a LIR and figure this all out :) @kpfleming I totally get you and I might come back to it, but for now I want to learn along the journey and see if I can set...

VPS as VPN to get Dual Stack at Home ? (CGNAT / IPv4 only)

So I went ahead and ordered a VPS at Vultr with 2x IPv4/32 & IPv6/64 to play around with. I got Wireguard fully setup and now have a ipv4/32 and ipv6/64 public IP on the Wireguard interface at home which works. I can ping them from another external VPS server and see the ping as well as reply...

VPS as VPN to get Dual Stack at Home ? (CGNAT / IPv4 only)

Hurricane Electric TunnelBroker actually seems like the best option, but I'm not really a fan of it, I would prefer to do the routing/setup myself and kinda own it instead of using a free service. I'm already having a hard time finding a cheap VPS that has /60 or /56 ipv6 which is really...

VPS as VPN to get Dual Stack at Home ? (CGNAT / IPv4 only)

So I had Dual Stack before but moved into a new flat and now I'm behind CGNAT with IPv4 only. I would like to continue hosting some websites from home and therefore get Dual Stack again. My plan is to buy a VPS from a Cloud Provider and install OPNsense on it. Then create a Wireguard...

Any X10SLL-F users out there with a multimeter?

Don't you need to remove caps from the circuit to measure them ?

USB 3.1 20 ping male to USB 3.0 female adapter

You can use the USB3 male for usb but I would not connect usb c to it, you would need to use multiple adapters and won't get any decent speed, if it works at all. Your best bet then is to use a internal a key header pcie card like this...

USB 3.1 20 ping male to USB 3.0 female adapter

The USB3 male on your mobo is meant for booting from flash e.g. esxi via usb stick not for connecting chassis io. Use a USB3 IDC adapter like this https://www.amazon.com/LINKUP-Internal-Motherboard-Converter-Adapter/dp/B07WG8ZJ41 and connect it to the cyan USB3 header.

Switch: Mikrotik vs Aruba Instant On ?

I'm located in Germany, Budget about 200$~ The Brocade ICX7150-C12P looks great, but seems to go for 380$ on Ebay here. Noise and power usage is also a big concern since I'm paying 0.50$/kwh... so I was mainly looking for new passive gear.

Switch: Mikrotik vs Aruba Instant On ?

My homelab has evolved over time and it's time to congest three 8 port smart switches into a 24 port one. Generally I just need a smart switch e.g. VLANS, QoS, Trunking (LACP), SNMP and 1-2 10G uplinks I've been looking and for my budget there are basically just two to choose from: Mikrotik...

    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

@Hazza64 congrats Did you have to solder the diodes on the back for serial to work or just solder a rj45 plug ?

    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

IN2 on the left could be a reset button, short it with tweezers or some cable and reboot the switch. Also try to short it for 5-10 second while the switch is on, maybe that's all you need. Be careful if you power the switch, don't touch anything power related (upper right / POE board), it runs...

    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

Yeah I think that's the serial chip, it also has resistors for TX/RX Try to connect to the 4 pin header marked as UART?!

    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

You are right about the EEPROM, it has lanes for SOP8 & SOP16 configuration. You can just solder to the SOP16 layout to flash it or use ic clamps. I would expect one of the 2 unpopulated 4pin headers right beside the CPU to be UART. Square pin being gnd the outer pin being vcc, middle pins...

    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

@Hazza64 sorry to hear that. I just dumped the firmware from my switch and the checksum matches yours, it also matches the checksum of the firmware they send me via e-mail, so it's all the same binary. My first go to would be to check if there is any reset pin, inside / outside that needs to...

    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

Ah good to know, I just checked Diagnostics -> Fiber Module and it detects my DAC, but Compliance Code is unknown. So I guess you can either reprogram the DAC or maybe there is even a support unknown transceiver option via CLI. ONTi generic code DAC:

    Hasivo Switch DAC Support ?

I'm now using 10Gtek AXS85-192-M3 transceivers which work just fine with OM3/OM4 FC cable.
