Did you ever get 512 to show full 8TB? I'd prefer to stick with 512 so I can move drives around between FreeNAS and other boxes, but will format as 4K if needed. TIA.

So I finally got around to putting my 8TB drives into my test box to zero test for defect. As promised, sharing some data for those thinking of getting some (if they come back in stock).

I got five of the 8TB drives today, with manf dates (3) Dec 2015, (1) Jun 2015 (1) Aug 2016. I will run some tests and let you know average run time, total writes and overall health if anyone is curious.
Have you tried this board with anything other than Xeon processors? Curious if an i3 Haswell (AESNI and ECC) would work? I have a few laying around. Curious if non-ECC will post. TIA
Okay so I got the boards. Like you said, fits ATX case like a champ. Powered one up with a E3-1220 (V1). So far everything works . Still figuring out the pinouts for buttons and the proper fan connectors. Takes a long time to boot (like 3 minutes before post). Seems it may be error on Fans...
Sounds fun. I think I will order a couple. Never modded a bios before, but I have a few Xeons and Unbuffered ECC sticks laying around. Want to build a server for backup. Can't beat $17 for the motherboard when an LSI 2008 card costs twice as much!
