Used Ruckus APs over the past 6 months are over priced since the chip shortage. During the earlier part of the pandemic I was able to get 4x Ruckus R610 for $99 each and had a few other friends get them at that price. This was Nov 2020
Oh ms264556,
I have a question. What's the settings to read the serial output on a a Ruckus AP? I have one Ruckus R510 that never really fully boots up and I'm curious about the serial output? It's stuck flashing in red in power. I just get garbage at serial output.
I haven't had any problems on 200.9.10.4.212 on a R710 ... I tested with iperf3.... not able to test it yet on broadband since my business line is only 50/10, but I'll be upgrading to att business fiber full 1gig in a few weeks.
If the flash worked fine for you you are ok. But I know flashing it to solo is better first than to unleashed since for some people the flash might not go right and the unleashed web GUI might not work.. so then you might need to reset it again. I recall somewhere in Ruckus Documentation that...
those that need a POE+ injector.. I suggest getting this one.. It's $17.99 now.. but on Black Friday last year I got them for $9.99

yeah that seller .. was selling at $125 for over a week one by one on ebay with a new listing each time.... I had some friends get them and shipped to me so I can flash it for them. It was loaded with SZ 3.6 firmware. Then all of the sudden today I noticed he listed for $99 had 8 available. So...
Just wanted to update you all on the Ruckus R510/R610/R710/R720 series for unleashed firmware... Ruckus just released unleashed firmware 200.8.10.3.278 firmware on Friday which fixes the wpa/wpa2 slow performance issue in 200.7.x,series and the first version of 200.8.x series. This should work...
H510 is designed best for in room performance like hotel rooms or classrooms or a small conference room. I know in the spec sheet they left out the 64 different antenna patterns per band that is Normal on the ceiling mounted version. I’m guessing coverage isn’t great since it’s designed for...
All sold out now.... maybe they might get more in a few more months when large companies upgrade.
As for the wall/ceiling brackets it’s standard $25 or you can make your own. I have my clients get them since it’s easier for me to install vs making one.
however, I did find a place that sells...
$160 is a good deal with current ebay pricing....better than what the r510 are selling. However in november I was able to snag 2x r610 for $150 each free shipping and 1x r610 for $135 free shipping. Then before that in sept I got 3x r710 for $185 plus free shipping. Used of course. Then even...
For me, I don't have to worry much about the cold since I live in California. However, for $40 each..... It's worth a try ...... to see how cold it can go.. Ruckus does make outdoor models for older ones like T300, but you'll be paying a lot more even on ebay.
sfair,
I would be worried about moisture outside. The Rxxx Lines are designed to be indoors. However, If you want to stick one outside why not stick it DIY box of some sort. Like a DIY homedepot Electrical plastic gray box with your own small cutouts to run a cat5e/6 into it. I would do...
They can set on a desk if you want, but the best coverage always ceiling .. never wall mount if you can. Then your coverage with more vertical than horizontal.
Yeah, I also hang out at the ruckus and Unifi forums. I’ve owned a few Unifi AC ap and not impressed. I need to test out their products as an alternative cheaper products and can not recommend to clients. The biggest issue is they come out with new firmware and it’s bugged ridden. A new...
