[FS][US-CA] Clearing out new & used Supermicro 1U systems, ships worldwide

@zac1 decided I didn't have enough of his stuff yet, and sent me some 40x40x28 fans for a computer I'd bought from him, gratis! The dude's crazy, and he ships crazy fast. Better take advantage of him before he comes to his senses.

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Forgot to mention, I picked up an ICX6450-48P for $125 + tax from an eBay seller in my area last week. It will serve as the nexus of a home network, with multiple PoE APs and IP cameras, once I get enough round tuits. I mostly wanted it for PoE, VLANs, and for the 10GbE to use with a storage...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

I ran into this today. In my case I put the authentication tweaks in ~/.ssh/config - since it's unlikely anyone else will be using my Linux box, or needing to log into the switch.

[FS][US-CA] Clearing out new & used Supermicro 1U systems, ships worldwide

I have a pair of SuperMicro PWS-801-1R I'm not using. They were the original supplies in a used storage server, and were working fine when I got them. I've replaced them with a pair of PWS-920P-SQ. Free for local pickup in Sunnyvale CA. Gone to another STH forum member.

In need of a bit if advise please.

What chipset does the mobo use? I had a Core 2 Quad I used for my first NAS on a Gigabyte motherboard with the Intel P45 chipset. Every so often it would flip a bit during a disk operation. Since the storage was in a RAIDZ2 array, this was easily detected and fixed with regular parity scrubs...

Hardware Failures in 2022 - Post yours!

First-time poster, long-time lurker. I had a NAS running XigmaNAS in an old PC tower case, running on a SuperMicro C3758 motherboard. One day this spring, the main CPU just quit working. The IPMI was still responsive, but nothing I tried could get the main CPU to work again. And of course the...
