I had no issues running my 5800x with F06. See if you can get the machine running with only one or two DIMMs, start with the blue slots and see if it starts up.
What GPU are you using? 5800x has no built-in GPU, so not getting any VGA output is more or less expected. Using the BMC it will...
Just another data point:
My new 5800x was detected and working with BIOS F06, no issues. My RAM is two modules of KSM32ED8/16HD, installed in the A0 slots (the black slots).
I haven't been able to update to F11 through the BMC, though. I might try to fix that later.
I also expected the CPU...
Finally managed to build a system with this motherboard, installed FreeBSD 14 just to see if my disks were OK and see if it booted. No issues.
Fit very nicely in an old Fractal Design Node 304.
Now comes the hardest part - what do I do with this system? :D First idea is to replace my current...
Are these udimms?
I’m still searching for a CPU and memory…closing in on a good deal for a 5900x. Hopefully it works out, would make a great upgrade for my current Skylake setup.
In for one, was thinking of replacing my current workstation anyways, this was a cheap start for that. The PCie3 x1 for M2 sucks, but I can sacrifice the x4 slot with an adapter...
How are you people powering this? My needs are modest (one NVMe, two SSDs, two 3.5 HDDs) so I've looked into picoPSUs but I'm open for ATX or SFX as well, just not very well versed in looking at the alternatives, finding an efficient one and so forth.
Any recommendations?
I'm not familiar with the connectors used on this machine, but from this thread I think I've understood the following:
There are two different SlimSAS/Slimeline connectors, one 4i and one 8i
The 4i one can be used for SATA expansion with a cable like this: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0C712HXCJ...
Sorry for OT - but can you share the 3d printed rack mount brackets?
My 7150-c12p is mounted to a wall, but I'd like to put it in a rack at some point so...please share if you can :)
I put a low bid on a SRX300 and got it (~50 USD).
Can I do something fun with it? Change to plain Debian, VyOS, FreeBSD or OpenWRT?
The performance numbers aren't very impressive, 500 Mbps IMIX? Isn't this a 8th gen Intel laptop CPU?
