Why would you want to use an ioDrive2 as a boot drive? Can you explain, please. Thanks in advance.
I used Clover-EFI in the past to boot NVMe drives even with motherboards not supporting booting from these drives. Just worked.
I have a Ruckus 7250-48 and changed the fans to Noctua NF-A4x20 FLX 12V (3pin). Unfortunately, the switch doesn't fully boot with these fans. Just close before the boot sequence ends, the fans stop spinning and the switch reboots. This loop continues 3-5 times and then the switch switches off. I...
Just talked to AsRock today. These boards where build for one specific company they can not disclose.
@Emtu ... does your board work. I contacted the seller for shipment to EU and he never replied. Can you provide some more photos from the board itself?
I heard, unconfirmed, these are cluster boards for big ML units. Ex-colleague from an Ireland quant shop said he may saw these boards in these units with huge storage behind them.
Thanks Samir ... ECC 1066 or 1333Mhz ... cheapest as possible.
That's nice, but look he's here in EU and just need ram and maybe a better CPU. But many thanks for your offer. Much appreciated.
Thanks, I missed the mandatory 1-2-4GB setup.
To be honest I wasn't aware of this. I gave him some old rams from me but they didn't work and then I realized he needs UDIMMs and not RDIMMs. I changed it.
Looking for my old neighbour 4x 4GB DDR3 1066/1333Mhz UDimm and a Xeon x3440 or better. All is good and better than his x3430 with only 4cores. He loves his old Dell T110 and dont want to exchange it. I like him and just want to help by asking here. Sad how things can turn down quickly for older...

why stopping now? use and keep the momentum. until you are using any raidz setup, you could go with raid10, install the 4 delivered drives, then add the other 4 on monday. test. test. test.
I hope I was not to quick with my suggestion regarding PartedMagic because of PCIe NVME vs M.2 NVME ... But if Ubuntu works with nvme-cli then you should be fine. Don't pay for PartedMagic, let me know if needed.
I'm not a VMWare enthusiast and specialist, but this sounds like something doesn't like the partition. Did you, maybe with PartedMagic or other tools, delete the current partition, erased the drive completely and go from there? Maybe the part table is messed up badly.
I assume they are working with their specific settings and we are kind of inexperienced with them and do some trial/error. Just the b7 error together with a black screen lets you assume they are not working. I you reset the bios and put the graphic adapter just to internal mode they might just...
@kubernation90 send me a pm I have to adjust my quick answer. If you see a 'b7' boot error at first and then solved it but the screen stays black, please try to get into the bios and change the graphic adapter option from external to internal. External graphic adapters are graphical PCIe cards...
