Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Is there a go to place to source rev c power supplies for 6610-48P? I’ve had 2 of these for a while now with dual rev A in them, and it’s time to quiet them down a bit!

Looking for recommendation for enterprise m2 sata ssd for boot

I’d look at the Micron 5100/5300 as well, decent price vs performance, especially if getting second hand. Cisco uses those models for m.2 boot drives in their M5 generation servers:)

Do Gen1 Silver Scalable Xeons work with DDR4 2400 RAM?

Correct, I was looking at 4110 to start with but ended up being able to get a pair of 4210 for less than the cost of a single 4110… I guess the seller (server refurb place) is keen to get me to come back and buy the other servers/more CPUs?? If worse comes to worse and it all doesn’t work...

Do Gen1 Silver Scalable Xeons work with DDR4 2400 RAM?

Thanks for the replies. My current sticks are 2Rx4 ones. Ive bought a C220 M5 and got a good price on 2 x Xeon 4210, so will see how it all goes when it turns up :) Assuming it works and UCS manager detects it properly I’ll grab 2 more of the same setups.

Do Gen1 Silver Scalable Xeons work with DDR4 2400 RAM?

Bit of an odd request, but has anyone tried running a Gen 1 Intel Scalable Silver Xeon with DDR4 2400 RAM before and had any luck? I’ve got multiple Cisco 5108 chassis and multiple B200 M4 blades, and have the chance to grab a few C220 M5 rack servers for a fair price. I’ve got over 1TB of...

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Lol, seems easy enough then, I assume it will update both switches in the stack at the same time? Is there no need to update the boot or Poe firmware with this release? Thanks!

Brocade ICX Series (cheap & powerful 10gbE/40gbE switching)

Is there an idiots guide to updating an already 6610-48P stack? I’m due to shut down the lab for a dust/tidy up and may as well update the switches during this time. I updated them to 08030t when originally setting them up, not sure if that makes it easier or harder. Thanks!

Is "vSAN Recovery" during yellow boot screen normal?

What you are seeing is normal, and is to do with the way vSAN reads/writes previously cached data during a reboot. I’ve got an article saved somewhere that explains it in detail, I’ll have to dig it up.

AU Big Cisco UCS Sale, Servers, Chassis, Interconnects...etc

Long story short, I was planning on moving my large home lab to a "private" facility in an effort to reduce electricity costs, but my friend who was able to provide this looks to be leaving their job, so I've detoured to a "UCS mini" solution so I can keep it running at home instead without...

Users/owners of certain HPE SAS SSDs will want to check and update firmwares.

There are no individual files as such, you either use an update iso if the server is managed as stand alone, or a package bundle is it’s managed by UCS. I guess you could try downloading the stand alone updates iso and browsing through it to try and find the relevant files. If you have lots of...

Users/owners of certain HPE SAS SSDs will want to check and update firmwares.

I’ve updated all my Cisco drives. FYI, the new drive firmware is labelled “C405“ (it’s not documented anywhere at this point)
