Need advise to overcome 2 slot GPU covering my PCIe x8 slot

Hi. Currently, the fan/ heatsink doesn't get in the way even when placed on the slot to the right. I love the components so much, that I don't even want to make an extra unnecessary hole in my Fractal Node 804 case, and Noctua fans :D. Let's hope it doesn't need to get to that.

Need advise to overcome 2 slot GPU covering my PCIe x8 slot

I do have something like you've shown. It's the riboon type. It seems more flexible than your pic. It's straight cable, no angle changes in the angle. As you can see, the box is pretty tight. I'm supposed to put an HBA to the slot nearest to the 2 HDD, not yet done. And currently, GPU...

Need advise to overcome 2 slot GPU covering my PCIe x8 slot

To the leftmost, none, as the leftmost PCIe x8 slot, with card connected, is so near my HDD near the base of my NAS case, Fractal Node 804. But, to the right of PCIe x16 is an open slot, wherein I can screw to case. It has NVME below, but that lays flat. I'm wondering if the ribbon riser, 16...

Need advise to overcome 2 slot GPU covering my PCIe x8 slot

I've read somewhere that there's 3-5% penalty. But I do think that is acceptable. Though I don't want to open up the slot itself. I'd use a riser. But how? to which side?

Need advise to overcome 2 slot GPU covering my PCIe x8 slot

How does this differ with existing solution? Actually, to the right of my GPU is a slot where only nvme is placed. My case has the slot/ tab wherein I can screw. But I don't see any cable that allows me to move 1 slot to the right. The Riser you've shown seems not flexible enough.

Need advise to overcome 2 slot GPU covering my PCIe x8 slot

Hi. I'm using Supermicro X10XRM-TF motherboard. I also have a GPU connected to it, a 2 slot GTX1080 video card. Apart from it, I also have a SAS card that I will soon connect, cause I bought SAS drives that are cheap. I love this board, it almost have everything I need, several SATA as...

Forgot what IP address I assigned to my Cisco SG500-28 switch. Don't want to reset.

Tried pinging 192.168.1.254, got 'Destination host unreachable.' I've accessed the switch before, set VLAN, unfortunately, I forgot. Looked at my firewall, with assigned DHCP IP addresses, and tried to access them, with no avail. Any ideas how?

Can you use E5-4XXXL processors on single proc m/b? Supermicro X10SRM-TF

Hi. I know you can use E5-2xxx processors on single processor motherboards. What about E5-4XXX processors? I assume the answer is the same for E5-4XXXL, the lower power variant. Regards

Can vlan1 (switch default) be considered for use with ssid without vlan tagging?

Not sure if it's clear on my title. My HP switch comes default with vlan1, which has all ports untagged. I use Unifi, and in my controller, I have 3 SSIDs. SSID1 (no vlan set), SSID20 (vlan 20 for guests) and SSID30 (vlan 30 for IOT). On my switch, as mentioned above, vlan1 has all ports...

Need help to reset Supermicro motherboard that is password protected

FYI, got to reset BMC password using these instructions from here- Is it possible to reset the password on a SuperMicro IPMI interface? Supermicro IPMI BMCs can be fairly erratic and troublesome. You should always use the utilities and tools provided by Supermicro before attempting a fix with...

Need help to reset Supermicro motherboard that is password protected

Finally got password removed from the motherboard. What I did was using the SUPER.ROM method :D. Saw online that using a fat or fat32 formatted usb (no need to be bootable), place a recent copy of bios, and rename it to SUPER.ROM. With USB plugged, hold on to ctrl+home, power on the system...
