Looks like i spoke too fast. Seller raised the price of the board from $68 back to $80 earlier this morning. Then he raised all the way to $100 just now.... lol... WTF?!
I could only imagine because he noticed the increased traffic. STH effect? lol..
These have been reduced to $68 before offer with FS! They also come with two e5-2600 v2 test cpus (2650 v2 in my case) and two 8GB ddr3 and two low profile passive heatsinks!
The 64GB ram dimm are going fast! He already sold 105. There're only 102 left! I already bought 32x myself!
So you can use platinum in any socket but bronze and silver can only be used with 2 socket servers? or can you actually put the silver and bronze cpu in an 8 socket board (but only able to use 1 and 2 cpu)?
Quick question about these skylake and cascade lake: so the platinum ones can be used with 8 socket, 4 sockets, 2 socket boards. gold with 4 and 2 sockets, and silver and bronze with 2 sockets ?
it's not like 2011 when you have the E7 and E5 situation that cannot be used interchangeably...
My posting about epyc wasn't about literally dropping an EPYC cpu into the WC621D8A MB.
My point was that yes, the board might be cheap but the needed cpu is not cheap relatively. And compared to 2011v3/v4 dual cpu raw performance/$ just not very impressive. I am not denying that there is...
Brand name WS are shit when it comes to ES, QS, and OEM cpus. MB from Asus and Supermicro might be a bit more expensive but allow for more flexibility later.
I understand that there are some benefits to the Xeon Scalable compared to 2011 v4 but it just seems like the raw $/performance ratio just isn't quite so good
I finally got my 2699 v4 pair as well as a pair of 2690 v4. And yes i can also confirm what you say about it from running y cruncher. The gain between the two cpus on y cruncher is also marginal.
It's really weird because on cinebench and on cpuz benchmarks, the 2699 v4 is significantly faster...
This wasn't sold as a defective m board though. And it works fine right now when i received it. I have to rip out two from my other MB just to test it.
Bought a used X9DAi board on ebay. seller didn't include them and claim that none of the pics showed them so he didnt have to include them :( what an ass. I mean why would you rip off the backplates of the MB
I have an HP z420 my workplace gave to me for remote work from home. updated the bios to the latest today. it has a 1620 v1 cpu. I put in 4X64GB and it was able to boot into bios showing 256GB DDR3 LRDIMM under the total ram section in line 2. But interestingly, the ram section about the...
So i found out something new today after loading up the X9Dri with 1.5TB. Although the board recognized all the ram, it does not want to load the video driver with any amount of ram equal to or above 1TB. This is also what happened on the Asus Z9PE. I am wondering if it's some limitation of...
I am testing out the board i got. As stated in the description, test cpus and ram were included and consisted of two 2650 v2 cpu and two 4GB DDR3 dimms ;)
The board was already upgraded with the latest bios 3.4. Also, i don't know how they did it but the cpu fan speed control is enabled...
May not fit since that case only go up to E ATX, not EE ATX . I have phantek enthoo pro and it's a tight fit for Asus Z9PE which is E ATX
The size of the SM board is 13.68" (L) x 13.05" (W) (347.47 mm x 331.47 mm) per the manual.
That MB is speced for up to 1.5TB ram (24x64GB LRdimm). This...
