Interesting, but I don't think that would be the case. There is not any cpu in LGA2011 that crippled that way. They limited the ram freq, qpi links but not the pcie lanes.
I think it is something to do with a cpu feature like addressing pcie devices, or something with buggy virtualization.
In...
I think it is something with pcie mmio, tsx, vmx or some addressing issues. Dont think that pcie lanes are killed because low end, old cards are working (short addresses?)
So i start to disable cpu features. (Txt and vm features)
There was something with TXT(TSX) in that time (haswell and early...
Nope, but my asrock x99 and z440 (both latest stock bios) have the same pcie lane issues with both aws cpus (asrock x99 pcie lane for nvme not working, only an old video card works at pcie 1.0, hp z440 only works on the first 1x slot that comes from the Pch)
Only old pcie 1.0 video cards works...
Its start now.
TDC wasnt the issue (it is 176A) but the pcie lanes. Only the 2.0 pch lanes are working. But i dont think both cpu comes with dead pcie lanes so it is some compatibilty issue.
Hp z440 latest 2023 bios. All keyboard led blink once but not starting, i got 6 beeps.
It is working in asrock x99 as AWS-1100v4 but lost some pcie lanes (nvme not working). And there is something with the video card support, only a GT240 works with this, Gtx580 not working (the gtx580 and the...
The TDP is not the problem, i use 160w 2687wv3 in one of my dell T5810 (custom all core hack unlocked bios + Rebar support) HP Z440 also works with 145w 2697v3.
I think i removed the microcode in the Dell when i added the turbo hack.
I am trying to update the Z440 bios.
I have two QJWD Xeon (AWS-1100v4 or 2676v4?) but it is not working in HP Z440 (5 beeps and red led flash) and Dell T5810 (no beep just a blank screen). Or my workstations simply not work with v4 cpus?
Do i need older microcode or newer bios?
I tested it, locked. But somehow also bclk is locked and that is bad. If i set to like 101, 125, 133... the pc is starts but turn off after 1-2 sec loop.
It is stable and cool on stock speeds. According to hwinfo ecc mode is working. I use it with cheap ecc reg.
All core turbo is only 2.8ghz...
Have anyone info about QLRX cpu? It is a Skylake-W or Skylake-X?
LGA2066, early B0/L0 stepping but i want to know it is an unlocked multi or locked?
Seller tells me that is a QS of 7900x and all features almost the same as the retail, but i think he is lying. I only see that a clocks are much...
Finaly!
It is working!
H310 stock dell it fw (like h200) and gparted just one command. (Sdb was the sas drive)
Sudo sg_format --size=512 --format /dev/sdb
I can format it with gparted sgformat util.
All drives that not working is the same 4160 sector size.
This 6tb sas is working, see 512k sector size
So i started formating the 4k to 512
Formating is very slow.
Directly. I only have this sas cable. I want to test the drives before sale. I think my psu has 3.3v on sata power (superflower 750w platinum) but i think the sas cable missing the 3.3v line.
Thanks.
I checked it has the latest p20 version firmware. I try the older p19 version.
I bought a box of used/trashed server things for ~70 usd (2x 800gb intel p3600 u.2 ssd, 15x sas hdd 1.2-6tb sizes, 10x new satadom 32-128gb ssd, sata-sas interposers, nvidia grid k2, dual 10gb intel x520 card...
I have a dell h310 flashed to IT mode (dont know what firmware but in devce manager listed as lsi 2008 falcon)
I got a lot of sas drives but the 4kn versions cant initialize. The older not 4kn but 12gb/s works fine.
I can read the smart data, the drives spins but i got i/o error when i...
I have an Supermicro X11SPM-F-O motherboard. After i uploaded a modded bios the onboard lan stopped working, all the lan leds are always on (not blinking) even in stand by or turned off. Windows recognizing one x722 device but not as a network connection, the bmc is working in the dedicated lan...
