the block diagram showed some USB ports for the aspeed BMC... but where are the actual ports? If I understand the block diagram the two rear USB ports are just regular system BMC ports.
i was going to offer to mail you my pentium g3220t (dual core) for testing if you wanted to pay shipping. However I see them on sale on ebay for less than the cost of me going to the post office.
actually, all the low end haswell chips are around $9 for the cheapest thing on ebay:
pentium...
Note that storj has been reducing payouts this year and so it may not be profitable if your electricity prices are very high. I retired a couple smaller drives.
Conversely, a larger 8tb drive that is almost full (well over a year of storj ing) is doing well
Hey, that's pretty strange. My CPU is a 1225V3. It has four cores and four threads and they all ran no problem. The only time I heard of course being disabled is if you pick it in a BIOS option, and it should be possible to use all course regardless of specific BIOS version, I would think. My...
just to update, my initial tests on getting esxi to work on the 13700k have been promising.
Most of the info comes from this guy's blog
Video of ESXi install workaround for Fatal CPU mismatch on feature for Intel 12th Gen CPUs and newer (williamlam.com)
I will upgrade from esxi 7.0 to 8.0...
So I got my 13700k and I have been testing it out.
the motherboard (and MSI Creator Z690) came with no TDP limit as default, so when I ran prime95 the CPU consumed 300W(!) of electricity and immediately hit a 99C thermal cap, using a fairly beefy dual tower air cooler. However idle...
Looks like the deal is already over, microcenter price back up to $360.
I was able to price match yesterday to Best Buy so that was fun. Will probably be using it for my desktop, not server.
Although what I really shoulda bought was the 12600k when it was on sale at newegg against Prime Day...
Bumping this because I just retired my board and wanted to know if anyone was interested in buying one (I have the motherboard, a xeon 1225v3 CPU, and heatsink, not the chassis)
They were probably sloppy and used the terms interchangeably
Technically SFP is gigabit only. SFP+ is 10g
I used cheap SFP+ modules I found on Amazon. Maybe from 10gtek and ipolex, but not completely sure.
Again, except for the problem with DAC cables, it was fine. In addition, the main serve...
Years ago SPD, or maybe their Water Panther brand, had a problem where drives labeled new were actually refurbs.
I haven't seen any recent reports of such troubles though, they've been generally accurate with their listings (just pay attention because they can have 'new' and 'seller refurb' and...
this really was a bonkers offer.
I recently got a single old SAS 3.2TB SSD for about 80, but that was a 5 year old drive, and even that price was a fluke.
you know that's generally true, most of the time auctions I watch to for regular used or even higher prices. The vast majority of times.
BUT, sometimes an obscure item can go through without getting bid on, usually if there's something off about the listing.
and ONE TIME, there was a nice...
