    CWWK/Topton/... Nxxx quad NIC router

Yes but while we look at things like printing out a bottom fan holder and standing it sideways, shoehorning fans inside and such in an attempt to get airflow to the underside, a simple look at it to determine if there is good space between the table and the underside can get overlooked. Not...

    CWWK/Topton/... Nxxx quad NIC router

I’ve got the 8505 version and I’m not seeing temperature issues… then it dawned on me that it may be due at least partially, to having mine on one of those metal shelving units like you see at Home Depot. Open shelving of chrome tubes… total aireflow underneath. I toyed with the idea of zip...

    CWWK i5-1235U 6 port i226 report

Sorry if I wasn't clear - I had found a section in the modded BIOS regarding possibly power/frequency settings to deal with electrical noise ... sorry can't be more clear as I found it while just clicking around in there during one of those rare moments no one else needed internet. The setting...

    CWWK i5-1235U 6 port i226 report

I was just in the bios (fta's) earlier this morning double checking a setting before the rest of the house woke (dummy me I discovered I had Speed Step enabled)... and I remember coming across a setting regarding the noise... Can't recall if it was in the stock settings or the extra exposed...

    CWWK/Topton/... Nxxx quad NIC router

Well, just looking at Amazon... it appears that the RJ36 has 4 USB-2 ports and the RJ44 has 2-USB 2 and 2 USB-3 ports... I would always get USB-3 if given the choice over USB-2.. even if only for faster program/OS installs from USB...

    CWWK i5-1235U 6 port i226 report

OY... Should have guessed... In case anyone else has the same issue after making the boot stick using Rufus. I had grabbed a new 64gig stick to make the boot/flash disk. Then I replaced the BIN with the modified one here. No go, error msg and dump to shell. I decided to use a smaller stick...

    CWWK i5-1235U 6 port i226 report

Yep booted the EFI shell, gave myself a crash course on the commands (Windows I know...MAC a tiny bit, but everything else...), switched to the USB drive then to the 'CW-12TH/bios' subfolder. Did list the directory, saw the BIN file and 1.nsh and a few other files (readme, fpt...). Ran 1.nsh...

    CWWK i5-1235U 6 port i226 report

Thanks for the reply and suggestion. Yes I made sure it was booting the stick by doing boot override in the BIOS, and it did a quick countdown "hit any key within 5 seconds or esc to exit" after booting the stick. And I did try as well with my NVME removed so there was no other boot choice...

    DIY NAS Build - CWWK J6413 + Jonsbo N2

OMG I was just looking into that very motherboard, to replace my aging Superrmicro MDB-X10SL7-F & XEON and lower the power draw for sure... Case looks like a good choice for it as well... Good write-up, really gave me a good look at what I am kicking around... I''ll be using Truenas and 5...

    CWWK i5-1235U 6 port i226 report

Oh boy I think this is my first post here... been lurking a bit. I've had one of those Qotom kabylake I5 boxes for maybe 3 years now running PFSense, been looking at these new ones as a bare metal PFSense box. Talked myself out of doing an i5 again (overkill), so bought the 8505 6-i226 Hunsn...
