I have an HBA connected to a JBOD unit with SATA disks if that's what you're asking. No NVME though.

Bug in Intel Atom C2000 series processors?

Mine was purchased August(?) 2015 Nothing obvious on the motherboard, and I didn't get the stats on the Stepping, etc. It is a fairly critical server and I needed it back up ASAP.

Bug in Intel Atom C2000 series processors?

If you're keeping a log of responses, here's how it went for me: 2/7: I contacted vendor, they had not heard anything from SM but would reach out. 2/7 (later): Vendor heard back from SM that there is a recall exchange for this motherboard (A1SRM-2758F) and they will set up an advanced...

Bug in Intel Atom C2000 series processors?

Our DC, dhcp, dns, NPS, ADCS server is running on a C2758. It's not our only DC, but it's the only physical one. I've already contacted our vendor and they're processing an RMA for us. Luckily they're sending us a board to swap out as an advance replacement.

Where did you see that SM is doing RMA for this?

Bug in Intel Atom C2000 series processors?

I'd say less of a security issue and more of a stability issue. It's not like there is a gaping back door, your system just randomly won't turn back on one day... It's MORE secure that way ;-)

Bug in Intel Atom C2000 series processors?

Ah, so there is some NDA info involved. I was curious where this was coming from. I hadn't seen anything from the normal sources about this, but there seemed to be a LOT of scrambling from Cisco and nobody else. I wasn't sure if it was conjecture on your part or if you had seen something we...

Bug in Intel Atom C2000 series processors?

The issue I take with it, is that this is a Super Scary Bug^tm and Intel has not come clean with it at all. I've been impressed with Cicso's response once they found out about it. But Intel's has left something to be desired.

Bug in Intel Atom C2000 series processors?

I've not seen it mentioned over here just yet, but there is quite a bit of talk on the various IT /r/'s about something that came out in Intel's 4Q16 earnings statement about a problem in certain processors. It appears looking in this whitepaper...

GoHardDrive retailer (amazon / ebay) possibly forging SMART data, selling used HDDs as New ?

The way we all knew was because there were logged SMART errors that had not been cleared. AFAIK, that is the only way to know for sure that these are not truly new. I will agree with sentiments from above in that GoHardDrive was willing to work with me. they gave me a 50% refund to keep the...

Potential Deal: 2 x Dual 2011 nodes @$199, Quanta Openrack

I'm gonna second what he said except the disk power cables, I found them on Aliexpress and ebay pretty easily. Granted they take weeks to ship from China but they do arrive and do work. Also, I'm using SSDs in mine and just have them stacked up in the disk area. Not secured at all. If I feel...
