Well, here's mine.

I'm guessing you have Milan and kernel 6.2? Known issue: Re: k10temp show over 100 degrees temperature on EPYC Milan servers from DELL and SMC — Linux Kernel
E:
I have that too, and it's been fine.
$ uname -a
Linux hostname 6.2.0-26-generic #26-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Jul 10 23:39:54...
Yup, same with my upgrade from same cpu to 7443p.
Also ~1000 euro. Well worth it performance wise (Geekbench 6 MT almost doubled, single thread went from 1200 to 1800), and sold the old CPU for 150 e.
Got mine and started to play with it and it looks like VT-d is disabled in my BIOS? The System Agent page says VT-d is unsupported, even with the all the options set to enabeld.
E: BIOS bug, feature works when I just enable the bits in the kernel and use it.
I've seen and bought A2000s for under 200 euro (and A4000s for 400)
The trick has been to look at not obvious places like classified (f.e Schibsted classified offerings in your country) and market places where people might not know what they have.
Do you have the dimensions of the stock heatsink? I'd need them for CAD (cardboard assisted design) template so I could fabricobble together taller heatsink.
E: right above in the posts the black thing is actually a caliper that shows what I need :D:oops:
If you have 4U to play with, Freezer 4U SP3 | Server Cooler | ARCTIC and if you want to play with some fans, there's 3D-prints/Arctic Freezer 4U SP3 120mm fan adapter at main · barichardson/3D-prints
H12SSL-i with Rome CPU and Ubuntu and 23.04 has worked fine for me. No issues, performance is great. 6.2. kernel without any command line options (other than kvm.ignore_msrs=1 and pci_stub.ids= for passthrough cards)
The image on the manual is for the CT variant which has that extra SAS thingy. If yours is -i like mine, you'll have SlimSAS 8i port (near the fan connectors near the VRMs) you can use to connect 8 more SATA disks with this sort of cable...
My boards' IPMI never updates RAM tab in the system information section. It still shows my debug boot with 4 RAM sticks from earlier this year. It's not an issue as the RAM works, but something to be aware of.
