Maybe a stupid question, but is bifurcation only possible from the x16 slot to 2*x8 or is it also possible from 2*x8 to an x16 slot?

Maybe interested to run 2 of them as ZIL/SLOG disks in a ZFS array on a PCI-E 3.0 8x slot. Should be theoretically capable to do 7gb/s like the disks do but I am not sure if there are enough lanes with the cpu to operate these disks. Will this work on X10SDV-7TP4F with a 9400-16i, 9500-16i or...
