I need someone to walk me through the following:
I am on a residential cable connection (Charter) and have not been able to configure IPv6 properly. I need some troubleshooting help here.
More importantly, I would like to route traffic from an Apple...
oh and does anyone have access to recent drivers/firmware? I don't trust the ebay seller and would like to wipe the card clean using RHEL/Rocky to prep for my esxi box.
A few updates -
The retro HGST site forwards to the WD site and does not have the driver/utility
Does any one have a nvidia jetson just sitting around? I've been playing with ML on the M1 and want to graduate to CUDA. Let me know if anyone have a device they'd like to sell. I'm open to a rental term too.
I am looking to purchase some used or cheap cable trays for use in my basement. I need about 25 - 30 ft of tray with 1 or 2x 45º turns and a cable tray drop.
I'm not a hardware guy, but I haven't seen any of these on the secondary market (craigslist).
Does anyone have any stock they're trying...
Fixed my ESXi server!!!!
Root cause analysis:
VGA sucks - My VGA to HDMI adapter + travel LCD screen couldn't adjust to the VGA resolution. These two were the cause of the video issues. Once I bought a new adapter and used a standard monitor it was smooth sailing
The USB drive had corrupted...
I stumped - I recently returned from a week's vacation to a crashed VM host (max ambient temp of 83ºf). I'm currently unable to boot ESXi.
Where should start with troubleshooting?
Failed to boot:
ESXi 7 u2 installed boot drive USB - Stable for weeks prior to trip.
ESXi 7.0.0 u3c...
Hi all - I just learned that my PCIe NVMe's are not compatible with a system. I'm looking for a cheap deal on a m.2 sata drive between 256 and 1tb for a lab/test system
I have a ADATA XPG SX6000 Pro M.2 SSD 256 GB nvme that I can trade.

I currently have moved from Sophos XG to OPNSense on my AM1 box for my routing and FW needs.
Any suggestions on an off-the-shelf OS solution? I really like OpnSense so I may hold off on the upgrade unless there is some convincing OSs for ARM.
Current AM1 setup:
I found this blog and feel ready to take the dive into VyOS.
It's easier to conduct this test while my rack lives in my house before I have to move it into a data center.
I'm also hoping to reduce complexity by having a one-box solution in hopes for stability, fewer things to maintain. But...
I'm in the market for a firewall to place in a small rack at a data center to access backup storage and a few NVME backed VMs. My current firewall is a DIY 2U firewall 2013 AMD AM1 Kabini with a 4 port NIC running Sophos XG but this setup struggles with my 1 Gbps connection prior to VPN. I'm...
Hey, thanks for jumping in here.
Budget: $300 - $500/m - Happy to commit for 2 yrs
IPv4: /32 or /31 @ 1 Gbit/s
Power: lower power consumption CPUs (E3-1230 v3 and AMD AM1)
Access: Twice a month is fine
Transit time: I'm fine taking the train for 1 - 2 hrs
This isn't mission-critical but...
I am being forced to move to Manhattan and need to stash my homelab which is in a rack enclosure on beefy wheels - Tripp Lite's SRW21UG (21U). I would like to keep the hardware in the rack but I'm open to installing it into a DC's rack.
This is what I have in the enclosure today...
I've used these for my rack to support heavy appliances which don't have rear support:
It's kinda janky but it works well in my home lab. I've mounted them in reverse so the cable lacing bar is supporting the weight of the appliance.
