    HGST 8TB SAS HUH728080AL5200

Nope. None of the steps mentioned works. I just settled with the slightly lower size.

    HGST 8TB SAS HUH728080AL5200

I pulled the formatted disk and plugged it back, but it still didn't show the increase capacity. I also tried creating a dummy pool with the single disk after. That didn't change the size too. Is there something else I can try? I used the following command for the formatting sg_format --format...

    HGST 8TB SAS HUH728080AL5200

Interesting. I'll try pulling the drive and re-insert it again to see if it sees the extra space. Unfortunately I started another format with added flag so I need to wait for that to finish first.

    HGST 8TB SAS HUH728080AL5200

What capacity are you guys seeing after format? I tried both 4k and 512 but the drive is still showing as 7.15TB in TrueNAS. This is the diskinfo 512 # sectorsize 7865536647168 # mediasize in bytes (7.2T) 15362376264 # mediasize in sectors 4096...

    FS: Lab Cleanup

Everything listed are very lightly used in homelab environment. The videocard is brand new for Plex project that didn't pan out due to the 1U chassis/motherboard combination. 1x Intel Optane 280GB PCIe NVMe SSD - SOLD 1x Intel Xeon E5-1650 V3 - $85 1x Gigabyte GTX 1650 D6 WINDFORCE OC 4G (rev...

    GIGABYTE MB10 Datto Motherbaord Xeon D-1521 with I/O Shield - $130 + shipping

Apologies for reviving an old thread. Does anyone have the pinout for the front header connector? I tried using Gigabyte documentation but it doesn't seem to match up.

    HP A5820X-24XG-SFP+ 24x 10GbE SFP+ 4x Gigabit - $175

Damn 178 pages lol. The switches shown in the pinned post have pretty similar latency to this HP, which is also what I'm using. I'm looking to upgrade to something better, in the 800ns range if possible and lower power draw. I found the Brocade VDX 6740 to be pretty good spec-wise, but I have no...

Nightmare buying a Samsung drive off eBay

We purchased 2 "NEW" Samsung SSDs off eBay that was listed as Samsung drives for a server build we were doing. However, when we received them, they turned out to be HPE labeled. Due to the urgent time frame we needed the server, we still went ahead with the build. However, within the first week...

159$ US 'new' Quanta D51B-1U LGA2011-3 Server Best Offer

No, I did not do a before and after but I really doubt it would be any worse than the stock fan. I also applied fresh thermal paste on the GPU.

159$ US 'new' Quanta D51B-1U LGA2011-3 Server Best Offer

So I removed the fan on the P2000 and kept the heatsink only. Since the chassis fan should provide more than sufficient airflow, the measly stock fan was not really doing much anyway. Here is what it looks like.

159$ US 'new' Quanta D51B-1U LGA2011-3 Server Best Offer

How did you manage to install the P2000 in it? The stock fan on the card protrudes out far enough and runs into the SAS connector on the motherboard.

    $199(US) - Chenbro NR40700 4U 48-Bay Storage Chassis w/Rails & PSupplies

The chassis comes with 3 PSU and I believe it will beep if not all 3 are plugged in. You could run with 2 or even 1 and just keep the other ones as spare.

159$ US 'new' Quanta D51B-1U LGA2011-3 Server Best Offer

NVME drives are typically just electrically wired PCIe 4x, so adapters should work just fine, and Windows should work with EX950.

159$ US 'new' Quanta D51B-1U LGA2011-3 Server Best Offer

This chassis doesn't have NVMe bays. You need the one with 10 2.5" bays. The first 2 bay should have U.2 connectors to the motherboard on the backplane. If you are planning to use the NVMe drives for ESXi, I'd recommend going with an enterprise model. The HP EX920 I had was no longer supported...

Ok I got it. The backplane is actually using slim-SAS connectors. I just need SFF-8643 to slim-SAS cable.

Need help with NVMe RAID controller and cable

We just purchased a Gigabyte R282-Z92 chassis for AMD EPYC Rome. The chassis has 24 bay for NVMe drives. We ultimately intend on switching our vSphere cluster to HCI, however, for the moment, we plan to just RAID 2 NVMe U.2 drives with a dedicated NVMe RAID controller (HighPoint SSD7120). The...
